Ezra blinked and he was back in the cage. Staring in shock at where his arm would have been, a high pitched creaking sound emitting itself from his open mouth. Six's saliva burning the flesh on his stump. He took three big deep breaths, trying not to scream as he jiggled his not arm. "I think i know what i want you to do to me." He said looking meekly up at six.
Joy winces at the sound of tearing tendons, muscles and bones, the shoulder joint popping and cracking.
And one of them's lost an arm. . .
"Oh?" Six leaned towards him. "And what's that?"
Down in the cave, the sounds of chewing faded away, and Jenna found herself alone with the rocks, the cave slowly going completely silent.
There was a fluttering sound from behind her.
Jenna turned around slowly. She was not excited for whatever was about to happen.
There was nothing there when she turned around, just silence.
Nothing but what looked like a small, black feather, lfoating down from the stony ceiling.
The fluttering noise happened again, off to her left.
Jenna turned quickly this time. Her eyes scanned the darkness, trying to figure out where the noise was coming from.
Again, nothing but a single black feather, floating slowly to the ground.
Now there was more fluttering, one off to her left, one off to her right, something behind her, and most concerning…
Something directly overhead.
Ezra looked down at his stump. "I want a new arm." he looked up at six. "I was quite fond of the old one tho."
Six tsk'd softly. "So sorry about your arm. Though I'm not sure, I quite like you without one."
Down in the cave, the silence was shattered by a high pitched shrieking noise, and the loud fluttering and flapping of wings, as hundreds of small creatures about the size of bats, dropped off the ceiling. They flew around Jenna, accoasionally nipping at her or slicing at her with tiny claws and teeth, or even pecking with what felt like very sharp beaks.
The worst part, though, was the shrieking sound. It wouldn't stop, it was high pitched, and loud.
Jenna screamed, but it wasn't loud enough to be heard over the creatures. She ducked to the ground and covered her head with her arms.
An odd sensation began o come over Jenna. Her skin was stinging and burning, wherever the creatures touched her, and then, the pain would stop. All sensation from that part of her body would stop. It began to get harder and harder to move, and her skin made little crackling noises now.
Jenna's throat was starting to get hoarse from screaming, and eventually she couldn't at all. She found herself stuck on the ground, unable to move some parts of her body. She was vaguely aware that the creatures were still around, and still swarming her, but she couldn't feel, well, anything.
And as suddenly as they'd descended, the swarm was gone. They disappeared in a puff of feathers, the sudden silence almost oppressive.
Jenna's skin in places had ossified, turning to bone anywhere the creatures had bit, pecked, or clawed. Her ears were bleeding, though her hearing was only damaged, not gone.
Joy growls. Something that may have been a failed attempt at English comes out of her mouth.
What she was trying to say to Six was this: "Okay, I'm done with your bullshit. Either let us all go, or kill us right now."
Jenna sat silently, still unfeeling.
Jenna found herself back in her cage, and for everyone, the room shifted. The glass was gone, the cave disappeared, and they were back in their shell of a room, all 4 of them restrained to surgical tables by metal bands and locks, instead of back in their cages.
The current result was On'nyosh, voiceless and with a broken ankle.
Ezra, missing an arm, ripped off at the shoulder.
Jenna, half-deaf, losing her voice, and with bone spurs all over her skin.
And Joy, blind with half-finished nano-tech wings burning up her arms as they slowly knit to her nerves to allow her to move them.
Six smiled at the all. "A little excitement is good for the body. Now." He stepped up to each of them and hit them with the same things he'd jabbed Joy with early on: stimulants and coagulants. "No bleeding out and no going to sleep mid-procedure. Can't have you missing out on all the fun, now can we?"
He stepped over to Jenna, and pressed down on her hunched up shoulders. The bone protrusions growing from her skin in plates and spurs crackled and popped as he flattened her out. He did the same for each of her joints, his touch almost gentle, if he weren't literally causing hundreds of tiny microfractures in her skin-bones now.
Jenna winced, expecting excruciating pain, but instead found it rather relaxing.
Joy winces at each crack and pop, wanting to say something, anything, but now words wouldn't come out of her.
Listening to Jenna's screams had been horrifying.
Jenna smiled slightly. It felt like she was popping her back after a long day sitting at a desk.
(Now to inject some, likely short-lived, humor, lol, because I’m still stuck on what to do with poor Ōn’nyosh. It seems that without his voice and his ability to run, he’s pretty much just there. Would that be considered a flaw in his design, or no?)
Ōn’nyosh rolled his eyes as he appeared on a table. He then winced when Six dosed him with whatever drugs. Almost immediately, he started to silently laugh. After trying something called Black Vampire Dust, his reactions to drugs had never been the same again. Who knew he’d gotten high off of refined vampire ash?
‘Not wise to give me drugs,’Ōn’nyosh mouthed, grinning like an idiot and chuckling at everything.
(Quite possibly!)
Joy sighs to herself, listening to the continued sounds of cracking bone.
God damn this piece of shit. . .
Six nodded slowly, watching Jenna react, and as glad she relaxed. It made the next part easier.
He began going back over each of her joints, starting at her arms, and made sure every joint bent like it was supposed to.
Then, he proceeded to bend them all the wrong direction, until they broke, each with a loud, sickening pop.
(I wouldn't say it's a design flaw. more a flaw in the premise, which is medical body mod horror, yanno? kinda lends itself to some of those conditions)
