(You guys are too niiiceeee >///< )
(Gusssssssss <3)
Jasper couldn't take it as soon as he crossed the distance, she was going to shout at him, that she wasn't stable, her being emotional like this never turned out well for anyone.
"S-s-stop- i-i-i'll just- y-you c-cant.." she sniffles, trying to suck up her tears before they fell, they looked up in her eyes, threatening to spill over like a flood.
Gus crouched down and looked at her seriously. "Jasper, I'll leave you alone if I'm scarin' you. But I ain't gonna let you keep thinkin' you're a monster, okay kid? You don't gotta worry about me, I promise. You won't hurt me."
"B-but- I-i-i- t-they- t-they s-said I-i w-was…." She was breathing in gasps as tears ran down her cheeks, remembering her captors always calling her monster and other horrible names, and then she remembered how Jez looked at her in the ways that they did.
"I-im- I-im j-just-" she paused to gasp in a breath of a air. "T-that i-im- just a m-monster! I-i c-can o-only..h-hurt people.." she sniffles, tears falling down her face nonstop, trying to whip them away and it didn't work.
"You ain't doin' anything now," Gus reminded her softly. "I'm jus' fine, see? Since this mornin', when we found you, you haven't hurt a single soul. You jus' spooked Jez a bit, and you weren't even tryin' to. Look….lemme guess, you were about t' run away to keep us safe, yeah? Well, would a monster think of somethin' like that? Nope, that's the kind of thing a good person thinks about." Rummaging in his pocket, he pulled out an old handkerchief and gave it to her. "But we don't want you t' leave, okay Jasper? You're our friend now."
She was still sobbing and wheezing, gasping as well. Her lower lip trembled as he talked to her, trying to disagree with him before just not being able to react from how emotional she was. After he handed her the handkerchief she just moved to give him a tight hug and put her face in his chest. "I-i d-dont w-want to l-leave!' She sniffles, crying into him.
Gus wrapped his arms around her. "I know you don't, sister. You don't have to. It's all right."
He sat there and let her cry for a while in silence, thinking about what she must have gone through and how he wished Jez could see this so he'd realize Jasper wasn't a threat. He wished there was more he could do for her. But for now, the only option was to make sure she knew, without a doubt, that she was welcome here and had at least one person to lean on if she needed it.
She just cried into him, her head was screaming at her and her heart was just screaming in general, Gus's soft words helped her calm down but she still didn't want to let go of the hug, she just stayed there even after the tears stopped.
Gus gave her plenty of time. His mother had always said that sometimes crying could do a body a lot of good. It had been a long day for all of them, but especially Jasper, he could see that much.
After a while, he gave her a little pat on the back. "Feel any better now?" he asked.
It took while but she pulled away from Gus slightly and nodded at him, but not letting go.
"y-yeah…thank you.."
"Aw, no need t' thank me. I'm jus' glad I caught you before you left." Gus paused, then added, "Listen kid….some people…..some no-good people….when they see somebody like you, all they think about is how t' use you to make their lives better. Now they know if you fight back, they might not be able to win that fight. So they try t' trick you into thinkin' you're weak and helpless, until you start believin' it. Maybe they tell you not to like yourself, so you won't complain when they treat you wrong." He narrowed his eyes slightly, angry at the thought. "I reckon those are the sons o' guns that raised you, Jasper. Folks like them ain't worth the dirt they stand on, and same goes for their opinions, y'hear? They won't get to push you around ever again."
(this made me cry -claps- good job guys :) )
(stop Im crying again, big brother Gus to the rescue)

(I'm so sorry I realized I didn't give you like any reaction time for Evan. I'll make sure to next time)
Jez steps through the doorframe, thick shards of glass on the ill-lit tiled floor. He steps around it to make as little noise just in case screamers were around.
As far as stocking went, it looked decently stocked. Though of pretty pointless things. Jezariah assumed whoever locked this place up took a good bit of the food before hand.
Though Jez gave this situation the benefit of the doubt, as they had just walked inside.
"we could get to the back storage area? Grab any cans and water. That's the priority. Most everything else is probably spoiled" he says, saying the last sentence mostly to himself, as he figured Evan already knew something like that.
He had to remind himself how long its been.

Jesse's just watchin 👀)
(your good man, im just glad for the response)
He nodded to jez, his footsteps careful and quiet as he followed behind Jez, gazing around the store. maybe i could find some cat food… he moved to raise his hand at Jez, before realizing he didn't know if Jez knew sign language or not. "do…do you know sign language?" he asked, speaking in a low whisper.
(I just caught up with everything and….Dusty you had no right to make me tear up like that. Gus is too amazing. TT^TT)
she nodded, glad that Darius and Gus caught onto her about to leave, if she were out there right now…well she didn't want to think about it.
she thought about the situation she grew up in, and how they would always treat her like crap and how she grew used to being treated that way, so she let it happen.
"N-never..?" she looked up at gus. "b-but..what if they come back..?"
(I just caught up with everything and….Dusty you had no right to make me tear up like that. Gus is too amazing. TT^TT)
(he really is)
(do any of the characters know sign, I mean June does but she also knows french)
(lol evan can teach everyone)
(Lol Jesse knows sign language :)) which is the least convenient person to know sign language atm. I'm sure everyone will hate her >:)
He looks around the smaller interior, the air inside hot and humid making it a bit harder to breath compared to the fresh air outside.
His chest felt heavy but he ignored it the best he could. Jez knew he had taken quite a bit of damage last night and this morning from the flames.
He tries his best to think about anything else, keeping his mind off of the shortening of his life span. The chances of a sooner death were higher in for him bit by bit.
Jez furrows his brows at Evans comment, turning around to face hin "damn. No I don't sorry. I assume you do?- since you asked I mean" He asks, his voice calm and quiet, not trying to seem rude. He didn't know if he necessarily did or not but he was trying his best. He didn't want another person hating him, as he was sure Gus and them did. After what he did..
Jez regretted it a little, his stomach turning over whenever he thought about it.
He hadn't known Jasper for even a full day. How was he supposed to react to her suddenly showing him what she was without warning?
To him, this is how he saw it. One day wasn't enough to trust someone. Even if it is in this kind of world…
Especially if since its in this kind of world.

Jesse slips out from behind the car and around the back of the store. If she got lucky she could go in through the roof or the back door. She figured the roof would be the safeties and best way.
She looks it over with a hard glare. The building wasn't more than one floor and the ceilings were already low as is. She would say it was about half the size of a normal Walmart. Though she didn't recognize this store.
She didn't recognize most stores in America. Having grown up in Germany and while she was in America she was kept away from society.
There was nothing to do about that and nothing really that bothered her when it came to that. She didn't need to know all of these stores and places now. Only how to fight.
And she sure as hell knew how to do that much.
