"I guess the right thing to do here is to go along with it." Conscience shook, and so did Elise.
"I don't like it either. Havenwood, do you need help? Can you explain?"
"I guess the right thing to do here is to go along with it." Conscience shook, and so did Elise.
"I don't like it either. Havenwood, do you need help? Can you explain?"
Havenwood sighed. "The other side killed Apollo and I's mother."
"WHAT?" Elise rushed to Havenwood and put her arms around him. "I seriously have no comment except that I'm sorry, which isn't enough." Conscience rolled her eyes.
"What the heck is the other side made of?" She squeaked.
"No one knows," Havenwood answered Conscience. "We think they're like… Shadow or something."
"Yikes." They both responded in unison again. "Okay, so what now?" Elise turns to him.
"We hide. Like the damn afraid animals, we are, apparently."
"Not a bad idea."
"Nope, not a bad idea at all." They respond, Elise taking Havenwood's hand and dragging him to the bedroom.
Havenwood shut the lights off in the kitchen and snuffed out the fire in the fireplace in the bedroom. He shut off the lights in the bedroom, too, closed the curtains and sat down on the bed with a sigh.
(wait…if they're shadows…could light…drive them away?)
"Conscience, go eat your cheese under the bed." Conscience obeyed.
"Just saying 'I'm sorry' isn't enough, is it? But I don't know what else to say." Elise leaned into Havenwood.
(Shush)
Havenwood shook his head. "It's alright. I knew her really well since she was the Goddess of Motherhood and all…"
(Just sayin)
"Yeah. That's…painful, isn't it?"
(rolls eyes)
Havenwood nodded and inhaled deeply. "It does."
"Just…" Elise falls silent and sighs. "I'm terrible at comforting people."
(sorry I ghosted)
(Das okay frien)
Havenwood sighed. "It's okay. I'll be alright."
"I hope you will be." Elise closed her eyes, at a loss of anything to say or do.
(literally how i feel bout this)
(:P)
Havenwood laid down on the bed and stared at the blinds covering the window. It was eerily silent.
(I feel like we're talking in code)
"How long will this last?" Elise whispered, very much disliking the stillness of everything.
(code noise code noise)
"I don't know," Havenwood whispered hoarsely back. "I'm not sure they'll come at all."
(also I am going to control the Shadows)
(lol)
"I hope not." Elise shivered. "Shadows…yikes."
"Well, if they're shadows, wouldn't light drive them away?" Piped up a voice from under the bed. Conscience.
"No," Havenwood answered hoarsely. "They're totally different than that, we just call them Shadows because there's no other way we can describe them."
"Have you ever even seen them?" Elise questioned, Conscience peering over the edge of the bed.
"Yeah, I have." Havenwood sighed. "They're terrifying."
