Leila pauses at that question.
"I don't know." she finally answers.

(Don't be, Jaiden, not a problem :) we just think similarly is all)
(Okay, XD )
Arcturus watched, saving his questions. Bane had them covered in that department for now. He allowed his body to relax, settling into his meditative stance, feeling the space around them.
Why does Orome want me here?
(Why do I imagine Arcturus floating criss-cross apple sauce on a cloud to meditate)
(Same! And he'd accidentally summon said cloud!)
He stared at Arcturus, "stitches? Seriously? You couldn't have come with anything else?" He muttered, not liking the fact of his stitches being the main point of his nickname.
He sighed softly, running a hand through his hair as he muttered something.
She didn't let herself relax from being tense as she had no idea what would happen next, but she did move sitting down.
(XD I so badly wanna retcon him to that exact position, that's hilarious)
(I know, right XD )
Arcturus arched an eyebrow at Sutechi, without opening his eyes. "Taeth, then. Maybe Sindarin will be more enjoyable to your ears." It certainly is to mine.
(This group gives me 'Welcome to the Family' by Avenged Sevenfold vibes)
Bane got to his feet, his tail hanging to about the inside of his knee. It moved slowly, its black fur catching the light and giving off an inky purple appearance. He looked Leila in the eyes, slowly stepping closer to her. He arched an eyebrow in suspicion and rapidly scanned the library. Such a strange environment for a 10-year-old to reside—surrounded by magical tomes and ancient texts. " Are you certain?" He posed his query in an odd manner. It sounded doubtful, like when a parent suspects you are lying to them; almost as if he had some special power to bring out any buried truths. "If you can not answer that. Then why are we truly here? It's not to make us suffer, is it?" Distrust captured the hellhounds face. Eyebrows arched, corners of his mouth being pulled into a frown, and eyes narrowed. He didn't want to spend the rest of his life confined to one location. His anxiety and suspicion of the girl were concealed by all his mistrust. Bane needed to come across as more courageous than he actually was. Because displaying fear makes you vulnerable to manipulation by others who are more powerful than you. The hellhound knew that from experience.
Leila narrows her eyes, extreme magical force starting to emanate from her as her temper rises, enough that the room started to hum and the air was turned gray.
"If I meant you ill will, you would not be here to talk to me and accuse me of plotting something." she grinds out.
Arcturus opened his eyes, watching Bane move. He didn't stop the hound, not yet, but he tensed in his spot, the metal on his body starting to flow slowly towards his hands.
He felt the weight of the air suddenly crank waaay up as Leila glared at Bane, and he scrambled to his feet when she spoke, her words clearly furious.
"Nobody means anybody any ill will." He said softly, and moved between the two powerful creatures. The metal kept moving towards his hands, not forming weapons yet, but ready. He was shorter and lighter than Bane, and Leila's magic outclassed him in a number of ways, he could feel it, but… there he stood.
Bane kept the eye contact, his ear twitching as the density of the air rose further. His tail swished as he felt extreme pressure on his chest. He noticed the elf come between the two, but Bane was focused on his struggle to breathe. Muttering something in Latin under his breath, the hound perused his lips and backed off, silently apologize before sulking off into the labyrinth of a library. What exactly had he meant? It frustrated him that she kept dodging questions, yes? That’s why he confront her in the first place. But was that really it? Yes. Bane stuck his nose in the air, catching the musty scent of the library. The pressure on his chest had been lifted, but he still didn’t understand where he was? The long extinct library of Alexandria? Anything was possible, after all, he was transported here.
Arcturus stayed where he was, watching Bane walk off, before turning and going back to his spot, where he folded his legs and dropped back into his cross legged stance. He kept his eyes on Leila, but waited for the others to ask questions they had before he said anything more.
"Damn right." Leila snarls, the magical pressure slowly increasing.
All of a sudden the pressure drops, and Leila sighs as she stumbles.
Bane browsed the books in the library, pondering which ones may be of help to him. None of them. He lacked magic and just had command over the shadows. Was that magic? Maybe. He came to the conclusion that he had gone too far and turned around to rejoin the gang. Perhaps to also acknowledge his error. Nevertheless, his path was impassable when he glanced up to find a way back. Shit. He also didn't really have a strong scent of any of the people he had been traveling with. Was he destined to suffer in this location? No. Leila claimed it wasn't what she had in mind. That ought to have put his mind at ease, but the voice simultaneously returned. It came back to haunt him with many alternative motivations Leila could dish out. He was plagued by it once more for a variety of reasons. But it couldn't be the case. She wouldn't. She growled at him for his assumptions. Straight into his palm, Bane's claws dug in. While the room was whirling, his breathing became more rapid. This area is too constrained. Far too little. In his throat, panic began to rise. To get back to the group before passing out, the hound fumbled across the narrow hallway.
Although it had only been a few minutes, Bane thought to have been wondering for several hours. It seemed like his lungs had tightened into a knot as his breath became short. He peered out from behind the bookcases and spotted the group. Only a few feet had been covered by the hound. But he appeared to have been through hell; his eyes had widened, and sweat had caused his hair to stick to his forehead. Slowing himself down, he was struggling to get a good breath. He had thought the walls were closing in on him. Bane looked down at his hand, pulling his claws out of the skin. He glanced at Leila as the tiny incisions quickly healed. "I apologize for assuming you had bad motives." The hound was trembling. "I'm never going to assume again."
Leila looks over.
"I. . . thank you, Bane." she murmurs.
At that moment she collapses, falling asleep.
Arcturus lunged and managed to catch Leila as she fell, laying her gently on the ground. He glanced at Bane, noting the hound's disheveled appearance, before turning to look at Sutechi. "Taeth, any idea where we are? Also, why were you letting us out of the cell earlier? I didn't bother to ask just then, but in all this oddness, what lead you to that?" He rummaged around in his pouch, looking for something, before deciding she should probably just sleep. She was still breathing, so that was good.
Leila's body is very light, almost like a bird's weight. She's breathing softly and lightly.
Bane inhaled deeply before making his way over to the others. He questioned if this was how reading circles in human life worked. He placed a hand on Leila's forehead as he kneeled down next to Arcturus. "Most likely, she over exerted herself. Every magical being has limitations. Even I do." Bane put his hand on his thigh after removing it from her forehead. “All you could hope for, I suppose, is that she's still alive." He watched the girl's side rise and fall. "And she's alive." The hound settled down next to the elf and began fiddling with his necklace. Its enchantment, which had helped him maintain control, was lost long ago. It was cast by a witch, with whom he was great friends with, before his father slaughter the individual.
Over the next few hours, Leila barely moves. She doesn't even make any noise. When she wakes up, she rubs her eyes exactly like a 10 year old normally would.
"Onesh l'an. . ." she says tiredly.
Arcturus went into a sleep meditation as Leila slept, sitting there with his eyes closed, legs crossed, hands in his lap. He had acknowledged Bane with a nod.
When Leila woke up, he stayed entranced, not moving.
(Ok since it’s been a few hours, let’s pause for a sec. I’ll get a response up soon, just not now)
(no problem, that's why I put Arcturus to sleep ;) )
