"No." Aaron answered, looking down after seeing Nykidia's reaction. "I told you I don't really talk to others often. Those I did know didn't really care for it, we were busy with other stuff." His voice got quieter the more he talked, suddenly uncertain. He'd grown up barely acknowledging all the holidays others celebrated, but apparently that was odd. He had liked seeing others celebrate something, but after a while he had stopped paying attention.
Nykidia inhaled deeply. "Oh no. Here comes the hurricane." Flyn said. "HowdoyounotknowwhatChristmasishaveyoubeenlivingunderarockforyourentirelife.OMGIwanttodie.Flyn!Wherearopeoragun?I'mgoingtokillmyself!" Nykidia ranted as she walked around. "No Nykidia you can't kill yourself." Flyn said shaking his head. Nykidia grabbed a pillow and screamed into it.
Nysaxiope looked at Nykidia with wide eyes and then started snickering. "I don't mean to alarm you, but I don't know what this 'Christmas' is either. I haven't been living under a rock, just underwater."
Nykidia just kinda fell over onto the couch and didn't say anything. "Oh no! Look what you've done. You've broken her." He said in a joking way as he got up and walked over to her.
Aaron was blaming himself seeing the red head rant before falling over, mumbling apologies for making her freak out. He didn't know this holiday was that big a deal to Nykidia. A bit nervous Aaron stood up, only taking a few steps forward. Unsure if he should get too close. "Nykidia? Are you alright?" He asked, looking to Flyn for answers. Though he thought maybe he'd caused enough trouble. "Maybe I should go. It's getting late anyways…"
Flyn threw his arm over Aaron's shoulder. "Nah your fine. She does this. Overreacts. A lot. Don't worry about it. It's not your fault." Flyn said. "I am not overreacting!" Nykidia said throwing up her hands. "I can't believe it. " Nykidia said shaking her head. "Aaron you can't leave this casino with out knowing what Christmas is!" She said standing up, a little to fast, and falling over. Flyn laughed at this as he helped Nykidia up. "You look like you just drank Dad's eggnog." He said. "Hey! That was not my fault! Dad never told me that he had put bourbon in it!" She said as she got up.
Aaron froze at Flyn's action, nodding in acknowledgement to his answer despite being uncomfortable. He didn't really understand why, but he wasn't good with being touched. As Flyn helped Nykidia up he shuffled away a bit as they shared some inside joke he didn't understand. "…What is Christmas then?" He asked. He glanced towards the others in a silent question of whether asking was a mistake or not. Nysaxiope probably wouldn't care either way, considering she'd laughed at his panic back at the restaurant. While the siren probably didn't know because of her town, he had no excuse besides having ignored the holidays.
Nykidia inhaled deeply and tried to find the shortest definition of Christmas because she knew Flyn would not let her send 8 hours trying to explain Christmas to Aaron. "Well Christmas was originally a pagan tradition to celebrate good harvest and Romans had a holiday similar to it as well but it wasn't technically called Christmas until the Christians stole it and turned it into Christmas. We don't really celebrate the religions side of it. But you give presents to other people, sit around the fire, make cookies, hang out with family, and just have a good time in general." She explained.
Nysaxiope smiled. "That sounds like it would be nice. So I take it that's what the lights are for? And the tress covered in lights and spheres?"
Nykidia nodded her head furiously. "Have you guys really never even heard of Christmas? I mean I know that there are more holidays around this time than just Christmas and I'm fine if you celebrate those instead but you have never heard of Christmas?" Nykidia asked astonished. She sat back on the couch and Night curled her wisp around Nykidia and hugged her from the backside with her arms over Nykidia's shoulders. Night chuckled at how much Nykidia was freaking out.
"You've met my parents. You think even if we knew what it was, we'd celebrate it?" Nysaxiope raised an eyebrow. "Speaking of my parents, you told them where Nys Fish is, didn't you?"
Nykidia breathed in and out trying to calm herself down. "No." Night said. "We told them that you were on the opposite side of town. we couldn't say that we didn't know you because Ebures had a mark that your parents said was made by you."
Nysaxiope blinked at her. "Mark? What are you talking… Fuck!" She smacked herself in the face at the realization. "His nose! That was an accident! Dammit!"
"I don't really celebrate anything." He said, not meeting their eye level as Nysaxiope joined the conversation. It made sense he never really bothered with holidays, none of that seemed like something he'd do. At least now, maybe in the past he would have liked it. He was quiet for moment as the two talked. Sounding a bit conflicted Aaron spoke up, feeling like he didn't really need to be here. "…I really should go. I don't do gifts or anything like the family stuff you mentioned. Hope you enjoy your holiday and that, um, that mark thing isn't much of a problem…" He was unsure if he should actually leave because he was getting attached and he hated it, yet he was choosing to leave. He didn't want to hurt them and he didn't want to be hurt. Taking a step back Aaron moved to leave, mumbling something about needing to find somewhere before it was too dark anyways.
Nysaxiope looked in time to see Aaron start to leave, and grabbed on to the back of his shirt, keeping him in place. "Dude, you're not going anywhere. You've made friends on accident, so you have to own up to that and stay." She flashed him a smile. "Plus the holiday stuff sounds fun and it seems to make you awkward and it's funny to watch you be awkward."
Lady Sinann simply bowed her head slightly. She turned, disappearing into her room. The other was free to do as they pleased…as long as her home was left untouched, Sinann was content.
The male sat quietly in a booth in the bar area of the casino. Their forked tongue flicked out again, testing the air. Their body was warming up once again. In turn, their senses were starting to be on full alert again. Well, not counting the small cold they seemed to currently have…
Mylnorr sneezed, mumbling, "Yea, got some kind of sickness…"
~W-w-well, maybe when we return back, we can sleep~ Faraneer spoke ~Isn't r-rest suppose to be good~.
~Of course stupid~ Kirdairn growled. The head's voice sounded a bit scratchy, most likely from the coughing he was suffering from ~I don't plan on falling asleep here. Still need to find out what happened with Nirvana~.
"She's asleep, and probably will leave early once morning comes," Mylnorr said softly, "Knowing how we sleep, and with this cold, we'll sleep until we either wake up ourselves, or someone wakes us."
Nykidia did a tackle hugged Aaron. "You are not leaving! You can't just leave like that! Just because you feeling like you don't deserve love you do!" Nykidia said holding him tighter. Flyn just chuckled at this.
Stopped suddenly Aaron turned as best he could with someone holding his shirt, giving a poor excuse of a growl so he'd be let go, not expecting Nysaxiope to be the one that kept him from leaving. Having thought she didn't like him, he was confused that she smiled at him.
Caught off guard he flinched as Nykidia tackled him, surprised by what she said, but still a bit uncomfortable that he couldn't move. As she hugged him tighter he squirmed some in discomfort. Between being hugged and kept in place he couldn't get away, surrendering as he thought about what they said. "Alright… I'll stay. I'd like to be able to move though." He agreed, his voice a tad quieter than normal.
Nysaxiope released Aaron's shirt. She giggled at his uncomfort with the smaller girl wrapped around him. "So would you explain exactly how Christmas works?" She asked Nykidia.
Nykidia giggled. "Nope!" She said. Flyn chuckled. "Nykidia! Get off him." He said. Nykidia grumbled as she got off him.
Aaron didn't like the others laughing at his discomfort, but was glad that Nykidia let go. "At least ask next time." He mumbled. Straightening his shirt and jacket he cracked his neck, an unconscious habit, before paying attention again. "Like Nysaxiope said, how does this holiday thing work?" He asked. He probably wouldn't have asked, but it seemed Nykidia didn't hear what the siren said while she was giggling.
"Oh! Well what do you mean by that? You going to have to narrow it down quite a bit for me to explain. There are a lot of aspects about Christmas." She explained.
"Uh, well you already told us what it is… So I guess what you would usually be doing for the holidays right now. You mentioned a lot of stuff." Aaron replied, unsure how he was supposed to narrow it down. He looked to Nysaxiope, hoping she could word it better. He didn't want to say something that would make Nykidia freak out again.
Nysaxiope responded to Aaron's look with a shrug. "We're clueless Nykidia, help us out here."
"Well we probably would be decorating the casino. The Christmas mood make more people come. Christmas time is especially good for business. People come to gamble with friends and family. People come to drink and have a good time." She explained. "Baking cookies are something we like to do as well."
