Hatta glanced over at her, then kept walking.
Hatta glanced over at her, then kept walking.
Aliana glanced up at Hatta, but kept walking looking around the twon.
Hatta kept walking, leading her into a small inn. "Come on."
Aliana nodded and followed him in. She found a small smile on her face as they entered the little inn.
Hatta went to the counter, and paid for a room. It had two separate beds, but they would share a room.
Aliana watched him hanging to the back. She heard one room, two beds and let out a little breath of relief. Or was it a disappointment. She couldn't tell anymore.
Hatta took the room key. "Thanks." He said, then turned to Aliana. "Let's go." He said with a smile.
Aliana smiled back and nodded, "Okay. Lead the way."
Hatta nodded. He led her back to their room, opening the door and going inside.
Aliana follwed him in. Taking a look around the room and glancing at the bathroom, "I'm going to use the restroom."
Hatta nodded, taking off his shoes and hat. "Alright."
Aliana stepped into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. She let out a deep breath and splashed cold water on her face. She looked at herself and said quietly, "I'm not in love. I can't be."
Hatta exhaled, sitting down on the bed to think.
Aliana waited a few more moment trying to get her traitorous face to calm down before she stepped out of the bathroom. She went over to the empty bed.
Hatta looked up as she came in. "Hey." he said softly. "I uhm…I never thanked you for what you did, I don't think, and I should have. So…thanks."
"I, um, it was nothing," Aliana responded cheeks tinting pink once more. She was shocked to have gotten a thank you at all. She had just thought she was playing her part.
Hatta smiled a little. "It wasn't nothing, Aliana."
"I mean technically yeah," Aliana admitted her hands intertwining with each other, "But I mean metaphorically. It was nothing."
Hatta shook his head. "No. It wasn't nothing metaphorically, either."
Aliana couldn't come up with a response so she squeaked out, "Uh, you're welcome."
Hatta chuckled. "Alright." he replied, stretching lazily.
Aliana watched him before laying back on the bed. She turned so she was facing away from him and curled up on herself willing her pounding heart to just stop.
Hatta took a deep breath, reaching inside of his hat and pulling out tea.
Aliana managed to calm herself once more and sat back up. She saw Hatta pull out the tea and asked softly, "Um, may I have some?"
Hatta nodded, and handed her a cup filled with tea. "Here." he replied.
