"Feet first." Hatta said with a laugh. "One foot, then the other, then raise your arms above your head and you'll slide right in. Just, uhm…be careful your shirt doesn't come off. That's happened before."
"Feet first." Hatta said with a laugh. "One foot, then the other, then raise your arms above your head and you'll slide right in. Just, uhm…be careful your shirt doesn't come off. That's happened before."
Aliana gave him a smile tears starting to form in her eyes. She nodded again and said softly, "Okay. I'll be careful."
She was extremely careful as she put her first foot in and then the next before raising her arms above her head and slipping into the hat with a little yelp. The feeling was definitely something else.
Hatta peered into the hat to make sure she was all the way in, then calmly put it on and started walking through the gate again. He was pretty sure this would work. He really hoped it did.
Aliana glanced around the hat and prayed this would work. She didn't want to get left behind again.
The hat's inner space seemed to be limitless. Simply a giant room that stretched out in all directions. Things lay in haphazard piles. Their tent and supplies could be seen in one pile, and other piles held other assorted objects.
Aliana wanted to walk around, explore a little bit. She began heading around the room and looking at everything. Never touching, just looking.
There were even steaming hot pots of tea, just…sitting. Clothing, books, nearly anything and everything one could imagine.
Aliana didn't want to know how the pots were steaming, probably some more of Hatta's magic. She wondered if he had managed to cross the gate at this point.
Hatta walked through the gate without much of an issue. He continued walking for about ten minutes, before removing the hat. "Aliana! You can come out now!" he called.
Aliana looked around and heard Hatta's voice. She couldn't find a clear way out and called back, "I-I don't know how."
Hatta sighed softly. "Uhm… reach up." He said. "You'll feel the hat brim, use that to pull yourself out."
Aliana got on her tiptoes and reached up and around. She felt what seemed to be a hat brim and began pulling up. Her eyes blinked a few times getting adjusted to the light of the outside world as she left the hat, "That was, interesting."
Hatta chuckled. "I'm sure." Once she was out, he put the hat back on. "Shall we get going?"
"Yeah," Aliana found the maze a much more comfortable temperature than the entrance. She took a deep breath reminding herself that she was here and wouldn't get left behind, though another thought surface, "Do you think the maze will let us get to the well with me here?"
Hatta blinked, and shrugged. "I guess we'll see, won't we?" He replied, looking at her. "I hope so."
"I really hope so too," Aliana replied a little worried that he didn't know either. She had a smile on, "I guess you might call it a wish."
Hatta chuckled. "Mm. It's a good wish, I suppose." He replied, giving her a half smile. "Come on."
Aliana's smile grew a little, "Yes'sir!"
He smiled, and started walking through the maze, whistling again. "And, if the maze doesn't let us find the well because of you, I can always put you in the hat again."
"That would be a possibility," Aliana said before some thought, "But didn't you say you haven't been able to find the well on your own before?"
He nodded. He shrugged. "Ah…yes, I did say that." he replied, frowning slightly and keeping his eyes fastened straight ahead.
"Then we'll just have to find it before the maze figures out I'm in here," Aliana said with determination.
Hatta chuckled. "Mm. I'm not sure that's how this works, but alright." he replied.
Aliana laughed and her face grew red from the slight embarrassment, "Oh okay. Let's still try to find it quickly."
Hatta kept walking. "Alright. You know the secret to a maze like this, right?" he paused for a moment when they came to a fork. "Always turn right." he turned right.
