Hatta smiled a little. "Yes." he replied. "It might take a while longer before we actually reach the maze."
Hatta smiled a little. "Yes." he replied. "It might take a while longer before we actually reach the maze."
"That's fine," Aliana responded, "At least we know we're on the right path."
"Yes. The maze…I have only been in it twice, but it changes every time I'm in it." Hatta said.
Aliana looked up at him, "You never mentioned that. This is going to be interesting. Can I ask what's the most danger you've been in while in the maze?"
Hatta shrugged. "Uhm…definitely the time the tigers chased me. That was fun." he replied with another one of his manic, crazy grins.
Aliana looked at him her face paling a little, "Tigers? Do, do you think we'll run into something like that?"
"maybe." Hatta shrugged, glancing at her, then back at the pathway. "I don't know."
"So it could be better it could be worse," Aliana thought of her nightmare and shuddered a little. It wasn't going to be like that, "Good to know."
Hatta nodded. "Yes. But everything in the maze belongs there, and nothing that doesn't belong can get in. The jabberwock, for instance, cannot."
Aliana looked at her feet then up at him with big eyes, "It can't. Your a hundred percent sure it can't. But wait. How do we know I can get in?"
"It can't." He frowned a little. "Well. That I don't know." he thought for a moment.
"So I might not even be able to get in," Aliana said in a small voice, "What happens then?"
"I put you in my hat and sneak you in." Hatta replied in a perfectly serious tone.
Aliana let out a slight bubble of laughter at that comment, "Really? Are you sure I wouldn't get lost in the void that is the inside of your hat?"
Hatta grinned. "Nope." He replied. "But I could just pull you out." He shrugged, still grinning.
Aliana let out another laugh, "Of course. But what if I hide in the hat to stay out of danger?"
"Hm…I'll be forced to empty the entire thing to get you out." Hatta replied easily, the grin still plastered on his face.
"Of course you would," Aliana was still grinning, "But I would be the very last thing you grab."
Hatta rolled his eyes. "Yes, probably." he replied, shaking his head.
"Sorry," Aliana responded on reflex to his eye roll, "I would maybe not be last."
"No, don't apologize." he replied. "Don't worry about it."
"Oh, okay," Aliana was almost tempted to apologize for apologizing.
"But yeah. The maze will be… interesting." Hatta said.
"That's one way of putting it," Aliana muttered.
Hatta chuckled softly, and kept walking.
