"I would like that," Aliana responded looking up at him a small smile.

Hatta nodded, and swam over to the shallower end. "Come on, then."

Aliana pulled her legs out of the water and walked over to the shallow end. She stepped into the water so that it was now at her waist.

Hatta smiled a little, and reached out to take her hands.

Aliana let Hatta take her hands. She was nervous and really hoped she didn't happen.

Hatta smiled again, and gently led her a little deeper.

Aliana felt her heart pound and continued to keep her eyes on her hands.

Hatta led her out a little deeper, then gently turned her so that her back was to his chest. "We're going to start with a back float." he said softly. "Kick your feet up and turn so that you're laying on your back in the water. Keep your chin aimed at the ceiling."

If Aliana's heart wasn't pounding earlier, it was definitely pounding now. She paused before giving Hatta a slight nod shakily kicking her feet up and tried to lay on the water. She could feel herself sinking and felt the panic rising.

Hatta supported the middle of her back gently, letting go of one of her hands so that he could.

Aliana felt her heart race still as Hatta placed his hand on her back. At least she wasn't sinking, on the other hand, she couldn't even float by herself.

Aliana let out a deep sigh and opened her eyes slowly.

Hatta looked down at her. "You're doing really well." he said encouragingly.

Aliana glanced up and him and smiled a little, "Really?"

Hatta nodded. "Yup." he replied softly.

Aliana felt her smile grew and she went back to focusing on floating. She closed her eyes once more.

Hatta smiled, and continued to help support her gently.

Aliana bit her cheek before she quietly said, “I, I think I can do it on my own.”

Hatta nodded, and slowly removed his hand.

Aliana focused on keeping herself a float. It worked for a few moments before she started to sink again.

Hatta gently supported her when she started sinking.

Aliana looked at Hatta grinning, "I did it on my own for a little bit!"
