Crescentshine got up nervously and followed Tawnyleaf outside. "So…?"
Crescentshine got up nervously and followed Tawnyleaf outside. "So…?"
"There's something wrong with Batkit," she whispered softly. "I can't yet be sure, I have to do some more tests, but I think he's blind."
"He can hear and smell very well, though," she meowed quickly. "He may have some troubles becoming a warrior, but..I think if he tries as hard as he can, he can do it."
Crescentshine nodded shakily, bowing her head. "Oh, my poor baby…" She whispered. "I-I'm sure the others will help him. I can already tell he's very intelligent. I'm… I think he'll do okay, right?"
"Of course," she reassured the gray queen. "He just needs a bit of practice, and some help getting around. I'm sure he will be fine."
She nodded again, glancing back at the nursery. "How is Dewpaw doing? I've been worrying about him lately…"
"He's doing great! He's wonderful to have as an apprentice." She tilted her head. "What is your concern about him?"
"He's been especially quiet lately… I'm sure he's a wonderful medicine cat, but he does tend to get overwhelmed sometimes."
She nodded. "I understand. I try to calm him every chance I get, but I can tell his eyes are full of anxiety. Maybe chamomile will do him some good." She licked Crescentshine's shoulder. "I'll take good care of him. I promise."
"Thank you, Tawnyleaf…" Crescentshine sighed tiredly. "Lilypaw seems to be doing perfectly fine, at least."
She nodded. "I'm sure she will make a great warrior someday." She pressed against the queen briefly and padded back to her den.
Eaglestar exited the nursery. "What did Tawnyleaf say? Will Batkit be alright?"
((btw sorry guys if I don't rp for the next few days cause there's a hurricane coming our way and we have to evacuate and stuff so yeah if I'm not on that's why))
(( you don’t have to be sorry for that, it’s totally understandable! stay safe my dude ))
((thanks))
Crescentshine nuzzled against Eaglestar and sighed. "She… she thinks he's blind…" She murmured softly.
He nodded and pressed his side to hers. "It'll be alright. He'll have a great life, even if he is blind." He glanced back into the nursery at their four tiny kits. "He's got three littermates to help him get around. Did she say anything about him becoming a warrior?"
Lilypaw glanced over to his parents, who were preoccupied, and then at her mentor who was eating a vole. Quietly, she slunk out of camp and into the forest, and as soon as she made it out she ran.
((*her, not his))
"She thinks he might be able to since his other senses seem so strong…" Crescentshine looked back at her litter, flicking her tail a bit.
He smiled. "He'll do fine." He licked her ear comfortingly. "We should probably get back to them, before they wander off," he purred, slinking back into the nursery.
Sparrowkit flicked her little tail back and forth. “Mom, is Batkit gonna be ok? ‘Cause you and Dad keep talking about him,” she said innocently.
Crescentshine nodded and followed him, laying back beside her kits. Batkit didn't seem very concerned and just lay down again.
Dewpaw looked up at Tawnyleaf as she returned, dipping his head silently as a greeting.
"Yes, Sparrowkit…" Crescentshine purred weakly to reassure her. "He'll be okay."
(oof it’s been a while for Copper and Ducky)
“I am fine,” Coppershine replied stiffly. Honestly? She definitely wasn’t. She’d never thought about a serious romance before, with any cat. Coppershine had just come dangerously close to admitting her true feelings for Duckwing, which she was still too shy to put into words.
“Alright, Mom!” Sparrowkit replied, clearly unaware of her mother’s true feelings. “Can we go out and play now?”
