'Huzzah.' Benji strolled through the door, checking behind him every so often to make sure August was still there.
'Huzzah.' Benji strolled through the door, checking behind him every so often to make sure August was still there.
August followed Benji at a leasurly pace, taking his time to watch for any other people, observe his surroundings, and feel any vibrations that could hint on sound. He snapped his fingers to get Benji’s attention as he remembered something. ‘Where is my hearing aid?’
'I don't know. I'll ask the heads.' Benji pointed towards the office with his baseball bat, envisioning the people inside as giant heads.
"This is a safe place, I've lived here my whole life. The outside is dangerous, you will be safe here." Harper concluded.
"I'm not crazy, Harper. I have family and friends to get back to." Charlie said briskly, limping towards the door, hefting her prosthetic with each step. She pulled on the door, but it wouldn't budge. Locked.
August exhaled sharply in frustration. Everything had to go through with the heads, whoever they were. He glanced around, looking at the different doors. Mostly checking for anything that could be an exit.
Benji ambled over to the door, knocking as loud as he could. "Heads?!" he called out, "My patient has a question. Not really one, like a crap ton of questions."
Paran had found his way to the office by this point, and is rifling through the papers found inside. Badge clicking against the file cabinets he opened. Perhaps someone would be able to find him here. Cautiously, Paran opened the door, to find what seemed to be a nurse standing there. "Can I help you?"
(Edited my post^^^^)
"Yes!" aw man, he doesn't look like a giant floating head. Benji hid his disappointment. "I have a patient here who has some questions that I can't answer."
Paran furrowed his brow for a moment. "Alright, my name is Dr. Liepus. I will do my best to answer your questions." Paran waited for the patient to answer.
"Oh and uh, he's deaf, so um, yeah." Benji pointed to August.
"I still don't understand what you meant by… what was that word… cray-zee?"
Nodding in understanding, Paran turned to his patient. Signing, he repeats his inquiry. "Alright, my name is Dr. Liepus. I will do my best to answer all of your questions."
Benji shuffled his feet awkwardly. "Want me to translate for you?"
(Paran was signing, his sister is deaf)
"I still don't understand what you meant by… what was that word… cray-zee?"
"It means. . . mentally deranged." Charlie explained slowly, turning to face Harper. She hadn't left this place since she was young? No wonder she didn't know what all of these words meant.
"Oh, I understand now."
Nodding in understanding, Paran turned to his patient. Signing, he repeats his inquiry. "Alright, my name is Dr. Liepus. I will do my best to answer all of your questions."
August was pleased to see that the doctor knew sign language. He considered what to ask about first. ‘My hearing aid, I woke up here without it. Do you know where it could be?’ He signed, doing his best to keep calm.
Eyes flicking about, Paran tried to jog his memory. A strange weight was nestled in one of his pockets, and he held out the hearing aid to his patient. Hoping that this was the right one.
August looked at the hearing aid with a relieved expression. It was his, t had his initials written on the side in permanent marker. He gave Dr. Liepus a greatful smile and took it, attaching it to his left ear. ‘Why am I here? I can’t remember how I got here. I don’t think there is anything wrong with me,’ he now signed, a light buzzing in his ear now.
(Apologies, I have to go to homework)
(It’s all good, seeyah)

(And Elijah's just trying to break down his door at this point)
