Kai heard someone else shout and felt both fear and relief wash over him. "Sounds like we're not alone," he said. "Maybe it was a plane crash? I mean, I don't remember boarding, but it's possible."
Kai heard someone else shout and felt both fear and relief wash over him. "Sounds like we're not alone," he said. "Maybe it was a plane crash? I mean, I don't remember boarding, but it's possible."
Azami walked through the forest, her steps almost silent. She came across a pair of people, and approached them with caution.
"Hello? You guys weren't on the boat, were you?"
"Oh, uh, hi. A boat?" Kai repeated, trying to still his racing heart at the sudden new arrival. So far, both the girls he'd met seemed friendly. Maybe this was some sort of prank by his friends. They'd done weirder things. Give a group of teens too much money and free time, well… "No, I wasn't on a boat, I think? Do you remember getting here on a boat?"
"Not really," Azami admitted, "but Lu wanted to go sailing, but there was a storm and I fell off. That's all I remember." Sailing was one of her favorite activities, and Azami never passed up the chance to sail. Even in a storm. It's not like that's the stupidest thing they've done together.
The woman shifted her backpack around. "But I didn't bring my backpack, and the only island around home has rocky beaches, not sand."
"Shit, and here I thought you'd have all the answers." He smiled a wry smile and glanced up at the sky. By the pool in his estate in Boston, then on the beach surrounded by a forest. Made no sense. "What are your names, by the way? If all of this is some elaborate prank, we may as well be friends. I'm Kai, but most people call me Skip."
Astra opened her eyes slowly, the bright glare of the sun making her frown as she closed them again, blinded momentarily. She blinked a few times, adjusting, before glancing around at her surroundings. This wasn't the beach house she had rented with her friends. In fact, this place wasn't familiar in any way to Astra. She ran a hand through her hair, the dark locks slightly messy and tangled, like she had slept on them. No surprise there. She finger-combed it as she tried to come up with an explanation. It was probably her friends' Jamie and Isla's idea of a prank. Well, Astra did not enjoy it. She rarely did when she was on the receiving end.
Astra pulled herself to her feet, glaring at the sand and trees. "Jamie? Isla?" she tried, looking around angrily. "Jose?" Finally, reluctantly, "Lauren?" When no one answered, her heartbeat sped up. This was fine. Probably just a stupid prank. A very, well thought out, scary prank. "Guys?" Astra balled her hands into fists. "If this is some kind of messed up prank, it isn't very funny!" She yelled that last part fairly loudly. After several moments of quiet, Astra shook her head and took off her jacket. It was too warm to be wearing that right now.
Astra decided to take a look around. Maybe she just had to find something, like her phone, which was not in her pocket like she had left it. She scanned her unfamiliar surroundings as she walked, not noting anything of interest. At least, until she heard voices. Aha! So this was where those bastards had hid!
Astra quickened her pace, the sand giving way to grass and trees. Her friends were probably hiding out in this forest, laughing at her expense. "Ha! You little–" Astra began, freezing when she saw the people whose voices she had heard. They looked nothing like her friends. They were complete strangers. "Um, hi?"
Azami turned around to face the newcomer. "Another one?" Her expression was barely surprised. "Welcome, to some island in the middle of the ocean," she said sarcastically, slumping against a tree.
"It was almost lunch," the woman sighed. "We were gonna have hot dogs, too." She rested her face in her hands as her stomach audibly growled. "This isn't how today was supposed to go! We were gonna eat, not get washed up on some island!"
(She's just a hungry idiot at this point)
“What are you talking about?” Astra demanded, confused. “Is this some sort of sick joke? If it is, could you please tell Isla and Jamie that their pranks aren’t funny? And if it’s not, what the hell happened?”
Addison looked around, standing and brushing sand from his pale hair, staring around the island as he tried to figure out what the hell was going on.
Azami looked up, and tilted her head. "Isla? Jamie? Who are you talkin' about?" She put her head back down as her stomach growled again, reminding her of her fate. "We're stuck on this island, and I don't know where my brothers are, and I'm hungry. And who's gonna take care of my little brother when Ace and Sabo are at work?"
Astra’s stomach dropped. Either they had outdone themselves, or this was not her friends’ prank. Deep down she knew what the answer was. “Does anyone know what happened or why we’re here, then?” Astra asked, obviously confused and thinking hard.
"I have no clue," Kai admitted, shrugging. "I thought I was being pranked. My friends idea of a funny prank is drugging someone and leaving them in Amsterdam for a while, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was their doing."
(Hey. I know Im late but Can I join? It says "(OPEN, last chance)" )
Molly made her way farther through the clearing, she heard some yelling but it was faint and far off from her so she chose to ignore it. She didn't know what those voices intentions were. After a whole of trecking through the cleanly cut path being careful not to trip over any stray twigs and roots, she saw the trail end up ahead into what seemed like a small clearing and could see some sort of shack through the trees, she entered the clearing and looked around. There were other clear paths like the one she had followed which she assumed meant there were in fact more people.
Astra blinked, thinking of her own friends. “Your friends are hard core,” she responded with a small smile. “My friends like to do pranks too, but they talk a bigger game than they actually end up doing. This is a bit out of their ballpark, but I still thought it might be them.”
Brooke heard loud voices and ran towards them. " HELLO? "
Scarab, whom had been quiet the whole time, nudged Kai. "To answer your question, my name is Scarab." She muttered, as a voice rang out. Louder, she said, "Did you guys hear that?"
She started to freak out, Maybe she was hallucinating , or going crazy. What ever it was, she was about to cry. I want to go back home… Brooke screamed one last time. " HELLO?!?"
Scarab took off, running toward the voice. She raced along the path until she found a girl who looked scared and confused. "Guys! I found something!" She called over her shoulder. "Are you okay?" Scarab asked the girl, offering her hand.
Brooke looked up and hugged the stranger. She was just happy to see another human being. " Yes, but HOW THE HELL DID I– WE GET HERE?!??"
She blinked in surprise as the girl hugged her. "Uh…I don't know. We all just woke up on the beach."
Brooke backed up, " Oh where are my manners?, My Name is Brooke. and..There is more of you?! Thank the heavens…" She smiled and looked around.
"I'm Scarab. Come on. The others are this way." Scarab jogged back up the path, leading Brooke to the group.
Azami sighed. "I know my friends, this isn't something they'd do. Although, some of 'em aren't above hiding on top of the fridge with a BB gun to keep Lu out of the food." She grinned at the memory. "He freaked out. Still got in the food, though. I ended up in the crossfire, somehow."
"How many of us are there?" Kai wondered as Scarab returned with another girl in tow. "Weird shit."
