@Sugar-Lover
Rose thought for a moment. “Have you ever been down to the basement?”
Rose thought for a moment. “Have you ever been down to the basement?”
"Yeah. Only once, though. It was awful." She shivered and she saw it again. Dark and reeking of blood…
“Well that’s nice…” Rose wanted to go to a happier subject, but couldn’t think of any. “Do you have anything happy to say?”
"Not really." Emilia shook her head.
“What’s your favorite color?” Rose asked the first thing that came to mind, even if it sounded childish.
"I like blue. I remember looking at the sky and remembering its pretty colors…"
“I like blue also, my sister used to like purple…” Rose stopped remembering her sister and the fun times they used to have. “When did you look at the sky? If that makes sense.” Rose asked sulking with the thoughts of her sister in her.
"Before I was taken to the asylum and when my parents were… a happy couple, I suppose."
“Well that’s nice.” Rose stopped asking questions and let Lisa tell her stories of the fun times they used to have, in hopes of trying to cheer her up.
Emilia walked in silence and half in- half out of her subconscious. She almost ran into multiple trees.
‘Do you remember that time when your cousins came from out of state and swept you up in a sheet and carried you around the house?’
Rose laughed remembering that day as if it was yesterday. “Ya I remember, that’s when I used to call him Crissy.”
Emilia looked over her shoulder. "Who are you talking to?"
Rose was surprised that Emilia noticed her taking. “Just Lisa, I mean, nobody, just nobody. Just me talking to myself. Me and my subconscious.” Rose smiled trying to look innocent.
"Lisa?" Emilia's expression sharpened. "Who is that?"
“Lisa, she’s um, she’s just a friend in my head?” Rose stated more of a question.
‘Just a friend in your head really?’ Lisa laughed at her answer.
“Stop laughing it’s not funny.” Rose muttered.
"A friend in your head?" Emilia tilted her head.
“Well sort of, I’m schizophrenic. Meaning somethings look real to me that aren’t really there, and Lisa is just one of those things. She’s always been here, I don’t know life without her. My sister was also schizophrenic, she just had it worse, seeing monsters and things stalking her.” Rose gave up on trying to dance around that fact knowing that there was some reason for why she was in the asylum.
Emilia looked at her curiously. "Interesting." She smiled. "My cousin was a schizophrenic. She always talked to things that weren't there, and I always felt left out." She laughed sadly.
“It’s nice sometimes someone that’s always there for you, but I had it better than my sister. She also had a friend, Jennie. But now Jennie is in my head, I haven’t seen her yet, I can just sense it.”
Emilia shrugged, not sure what to say. "That's nice, I suppose."
“The thing is with Jennie is that she’s seen the monsters, she’s witnessed the death, I mean i did too but she witnessed it from inside. I’m afraid that once I actually see her I will also have the monsters, the hooded dark figures that haunt me, I just don’t want to end up like my sister.”
Emilia wanted Rose to stop talking but wasn't rude enough to tell her so. She just nodded and pretended to be interested.
“I guess that would make my greatest fear death.”
‘Death by suicide that is.’ Lisa correct.
“Yes, But she doesn’t need to know that.” Rose once again whispered to Lisa.
"Hm… that's wise of you."
“Do you have a greatest fear? You didn’t seem to be that afraid of the nurses taking out part of your brain to let you die.”
