Elias shrugged, "I guess. I always thought that my life was bad, since I never had anything to compare it to, but, I guess it really wasn't." He said, his cheeks turning a slight pink, "But I'm sure you've heard of worse, now, tell me about yourself."
Felix shrugged, looking around the cabin for a moment. "Well. I'm the youngest of three." he said slowly. "Started out as a privateer. War ended, my letters of marque got pulled, but I didn't want to stop." he shruggd again. "So I turned pirate." a half-smile pulled at the edges of his lips.
Elias nodded along to what he was saying, as if he understood, "But what about staying on the right side of the law? Or was that not just an option to you. Had you truly wanted to you could have become a captain of your own fleet, rather than pillage other ships and such."
"I couldn't stay a privateer, and, well." He shook his head slightly. "The navy is not enjoyable to me. Too much rules and regulations and shit. I'd rather just be out on the open sea."
Elias shrugged, "To each their own." He yawned a little bit and he laid back down on the bed. "Well, good night?" He still felt so intimidated by this man, although now he wasn't sure why. He closed his eyes and turned onto his side, trying to fall asleep, but he felt more nervous than when he was sleeping in the brig.
"Good night." he replied, plopping down onto the hammock and closing his eyes. "Don't leave the room if you wake up before I do." he hummed just faintly.
Elias nodded and turned onto his other side. "Oh, okay." He wasn't sure if the other man had seen his nod, so he mumbled a quiet response. He sighed, thinking about his father, and his home. He missed it so much, and was so worried about what might be going on with it.
(timeskip?)
Felix fell asleep rather quickly, actually, lying on his back in the hammock. The rocking of the ship lulled him to sleep quite easily.
((Oh yeah!, that's makes sense!!))
(alright! Should I do it, or do you want to?)
((I guess I could))
Elias as usual woke up early in the morning. He started to get up out of the bed, then remembered what Felix had told him not to do, Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait. He thought grumpily, crossing his arms a little bit. Then he noticed the large bookshelf across the room. He silently tip toed over to it, and picked the book with the most interesting title off the shelf. Maybe this will help pass the time, and hopefully not get me in trouble. He thought with a small sigh. He was just trying to make his life easy, while he was aboard the ship, he didn't exactly want to get himself thrown overboard or killed. Maybe later in life, but not now. He sat back down on the bed and began to read as he waited for Felix to wake up.
Felix awoke after a little while, sitting up in the hammock and nearly falling out of it when his movements caused it to twist, and he yelped as he tried to recover his balance. He succeeded, thankfully, balancing the hammock again and rubbing at his face with a hand. "Well. Good morning." He said, voice rough and husky from sleeping.
Elias started to chuckle a little bit, then stiffled the laugh, "Good morning." He said with a small smile. He looked back down at the book he had been reading, "Sleep well, captain?" He hadn't sept too well the night before, still nervous about all that had happened, "Am I allowed to go out on the deck now?"
Felix stood, walking to the washbasin and splashing his face with water, then dried it off. "Mm. Uhm…don't you want breakfast?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at Elias curiously.
Elias shook his head, "No, not really." He said with sigh, "I'm not really hungry right now." But as he said that, his stomach quietly growled, "Great." He mumbled, "I'm really not hungry though, not at all." He said decisively.
He arched an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?" he teased with a faint smile, cocking hs head at elias.
Elias nodded, "I don't feel too hungry, and I don't want to take food from your crew. It wouldn't be right, and plus, I'll be gone in a few days, right?" He said with a shrug.
"Elias. You should eat if you need to. I don't want you to return to your father starving. That wouldn't reflect back on me and my crew very well." Felix said, sighing faintly.
"I'm not hungry though. If I explained it to him well enough, I think he would realize that it was a personal choice rather than you starving me to death." He said with yet another shrug, "Also, you shouldn't care so much about this, you'll get paid either way, and I'll make sure my father will leave you and your crew alone. I'll make sure that you stay safe."
"Well– I'm still allowed to worry for you." Felix blustered, shaking his head a little bit. "So please just eat?" he raised his eyebrows at Elias carefully.
Elias just studied Felix for a few seconds shaking his head, "You shouldn't worry about me at all, alright? Now if you don't mind, or won't worry, may I go out onto the deck? Then, maybe I'll think about eating, but I'm not promising anything." He finished making up the bed he had slept on, then grabbed his book, "Please?"
He sighed, grabbing his hat. "Oh…fine." he replied, heading to the door and opening it up. "Don't get into trouble or I'll ahve to lock you in the brig again, with the rats."
Elias chuckled, "I promise that I'll behave, mostly." He walked out of the door and onto the deck, finding a nice sunny spot and began to read quietly, trying to just stay out of everyone's way. Especially Felix's, it made him feel a tiny bit nervous that the guy had started to worry about him eating, he figured that that was a personal thing, he should be able to choose, but he still ought to appease the other man, he knew that if he annoyed the captain too much he might get himself into more trouble.
Felix sighed faintly, heading down to the dining area. He ate some food, then headed up on deck. He looked around for Elias, trying to figure out where he was.
Elias was lost in his book, completely engrossed in it, and not paying any attention to anything to going on. He didn't notice the man coming towards him until he saw the shadow looming over him. He glanced up and saw one of the crew members looking down at him, a smile on his face. The man looked to be around either Felix or Elias' age, and Elias tried to smile up at him, "Uhm, hello?"
