"What about burnt?" Dove patted Yeon's face with her shoe.
"What about burnt?" Dove patted Yeon's face with her shoe.
"He seems abnormal, but normally he would be out for maybe a week without medicine," Laima said. She lifted up her hood, pushing her long hair out away from her face.
"Oh, and here's Peacock's calling card if you ever feel like filing some complaints!" Good thing Laima hadn't committed to any other missions - by joining up with Dove and Yeon she was also joining the 'to kill' list of the Peacocks. Oh well. She was a traveler and never stayed in the same place for longer than a year.
"And I'm joining both of you, right? Since you work together?" Laima asked. "I never could really figure out what's going on here. He did call you 'dear' when I drugged Mr. Mudd over there, but I couldn't tell if you liked him. I hope not. He's weird but cool. We could be friends."
Yeon seemed to stir already, his abilities beginning to wake him up. His hand shot out, grabbing Laima by the ankle and pushing with his other hand, knocking her to the ground. “Pequeña perra,” he hissed sharply as he got to his feet.
Dove frowned, "He was lying. But yes, we're working together. Unfortunately, this also means that you join us as a person who could be drugged any second by Roman."
Yeon fixed his hair using his fingers and arched a brow. “Wait, she is joining us? Did you completely miss the part where she drugged me?” He asked in an annoyed tone.
"Roman?" Laima asked. "I'm sorry, not familiar with the name. Should I be?"
"And why are you up already, Yeon?" Laima turned to him and put her hands on his ankle, letting her magic ooze out as much as it could.
Yeon moved his ankle from her grasp. “That’s a little secret of MS-13 that I do not intend on sharing.”
"Fine, then. I'll have to research it." Laima said. She got to her feet and fluffed out her dress. She smiled at him, and considered offering her hand for him to shake, but then decided against it for she was scared that he might try to cut it off. "So what's the mission?"
"We have to burn a book." Dove grinned, "Should be easy enough, but.."
“But what?” Yeon questioned, folding his arms across his chest.
"But…" Laima asked. This was going to be good.
Dove sighed, "It lies in the Imperial Palace Court."
Yeon laughed sharply. “You have got to be joking, right?”
Laima grinned. "Yes!" she said.
"I'm SOOOOO in!" she said. She was twenty-something but acting like she was a preteen. Oh well. She didn't care.
Dove sighed, "We're gonna need more than three people."
“I have an associate who may help, but she doesn’t seem to be available right at this moment,” Yeon murmured, checking the phone he was given
Laima frowned. "I don't know anyone, myself. I work alone and happened to be hired by the Peacocks this time around. The only people I saw today were you guys and Mudd and my incompetent associates from Peacock."
"We can't just take in any fresh meat, we need someone with a reputation. Like me." Dove flashed a smile.
"Dunno." Laima shrugged. "Know any names off the top of your head?"
"Actually, I bet half the people in the ballroom are working for a gang, from the info I currently have. They're all snoring, so we could go down and scout."
Yeon shrugged and took out a pen. “Might as well.” He made his way to the stairs.
"You coming, Dove?" Laima asked as she floated after him, applying extra sleep powder on her hands. Now that she had betrayed the Peacocks, she would need to keep the current members down for at least an extra day.
Dove, "Yeah, coming!"
