Jalaan rolled his eyes. "I have tried, but you won't keep your mouth shut and let him speak for himself." He retorted.
Ayce bit his lip, reaching up and putting a hand on top of Nolan's.
Jalaan rolled his eyes. "I have tried, but you won't keep your mouth shut and let him speak for himself." He retorted.
Ayce bit his lip, reaching up and putting a hand on top of Nolan's.
Nolan clenched his jaw. He threaded his fingers with Ayce's.
Ayce held onto his hand. "I can't give you the spell." He said softly. "It's too…I don't remember it all." He lied, swallowing.
Jalaan snorted softly, shaking his head.
"There, he gave you his answer. Are we free to go? Or is there anything else you want?" Nolan asked none too politely
"Other than the truth?" Jalaan replied, eyes tracing over Ayce. "Maybe I should return those memories you forgot."
Ayce shuddered a little.
"I think that's enough for today." Nolan pulled Ayce up and out of the chair. He tucked him under his arm
Jalaan stood, shaking his head a little. "I've barely spoken to him, and in case you have forgotten, I outrank the both of you. So sit. Down."
Ayce was stiff, holding onto Nolan.
"Then say what you need too and be done with it. Can you not tell he's terrified?" Nolan exclaimed. He clutched Ayce back
Jalaan rolled his eyes. "He's always terrified. You don't know him half as well as I do."
"Did." Ayce said quietly, looking at the desk rather than Jalaan. "Half as well as you did."
"And has he ever had a reason not to be frightened?" Nolan raised an eyebrow. He gently pushed Ayce's head into his neck.
"Plenty." Jalaan's eyebrows twitched, and so did his mouth. "But he was anyway."
Ayce closed his eyes, leaning against Nolan.
Nolan ran his hands through Ayce's hair. "Perhaps your reasons are different from his."
Jalaan sighed. "Perhaps so. But I still need to talk to him, without you shouting at me about it the whole time."
"I wouldn't be shouting if you weren't making him uncomfortable." Nolan almost glared
Jalaan steepled his fingers over his nose for a moment. "Goddamnit, Nolan. Just let me talk to him." he said, lips pressed into a thin line.
Ayce sighed softly, and opened his eyes.
Nolan looked down at Ayce. "You don't have too if you want too." He murmured quietly
"Yes, I do." Ayce said softly, swallowing and looking up at Nolan.
"Okay." Nolan kissed the top of his head. He turned back to Jalaan, letting Ayce do as he pleased
Ayce stayed leaning against Nolan, holding onto him. "What do you want?" he asked Jalaan.
"The truth." Jalaan replied calmly.
Nolan gently rubbed his back. He would be there for anything that Ayce needed.
"About what?" Ayce asked, voice soft.
"That spell. You know which one." Jalaan sat down again.
Ayce swallowed. "I…it shouldn't be used." he replied, playing with the hem of his shirt. "It's too dangerous."
Nolan tenderly ran his hands through through Ayce's hair. "He gave you his answer. Are you going to continue to pester him?"
Jalaan snorted softly. "Ayce, I'll be the judge of that. Just give me the spell."
Ayce shook his head a little.
Nolan shifted Ayce so that he was angled behind him. "He gave you his answer. Leave it at that." He snarled.
Ayce wrapped his arms around Nolan. "Don't." he said quietly. "You'll just get hurt."
