Nolan kissed his head comfortingly. He was quick with his work, cleaning and rebandaging his wounds. He slid Ayce's shirt back on him when he had finished. "All done darling."

Ayce nodded. "Okay. Thank you…" He said, tucking his knees up to his chest and turning to look at Nolan.

Nolan pet his hair softly. "Of course darling." He kissed his brow. "Do you want to go to the market with me to get more supplies?"

Ayce gave a tiny smile, and nodded. "Okay…" He replied, looking at Nolan. "What do we have to get?" He asked softly, resting his chin on his knees.

"We need yo replinsh our food and water, as well as medical supplies. I need to get my blades sharpened. Some more rope. I need more flint as well. A horse, maybe two if you want to ride by yourself. And anything else we might see and need."

Ayce nodded a little. "Okay." He replied softly, leaning his head against Nolan's shoulder. He let out a soft breath.

Nolan stroked his side softly. "Do you want a small bite to eat or something to drink before we head out?"

He shook his head silently, closing his eyes for a moment, then opening them again and looking at Nolan. "H-how long until we arrive at the…the base?" He asked softly, chewing on his lip again.

"A week at most. It all depends on other variables. But we'll cross that bridge if we get there." Nolan stood, assisting Ayce up as well

Ayce stood, and nodded. "Okay." he replied softly, looking down at the floor. A week more before him again. A week a week a week I don't know if I can do it I don't know…

"I promise i won't leave you once we get to base. I'll be by your side every step of the way, no matter what. I'll even make sure you share a room with me if thats what you want." Nolan used his finger to lift Ayce's chin

Ayce looked at him, and nodded slightly. "Okay." he whispered, biting his lip a little. "I-I…I'm scared…" he admitted softly, closing his eyes for a moment.

Nolan drew him into a hug. "I'm going to protect you sweetheart. I promise I will. I'll protect you from anything and anyone who tried to hurt you."

Ayce bit his lip, leaning against Nolan a little. "You can't…" He mumbled. "Even I couldn't protect anyone and I was stronger than him I always was but I was…I…weapon monster killer whore that's all I ever was I couldn't protect anyone and he'll just get rid of you too and I don't…" His voice was shaking as he clung to Nolan desperately.

Nolan stroked his back soothingly. "Shhh." He cooed. "It's going to be alright, I promise. How else are we going to have a nice little house full of cats hmm?"

He let out a choked sound, closing his eyes and clinging to Nolan desperately. "Can't can't can't he won't let me he won't let me I have to follow orders and that's all I was captured because I disobeyed and I…" His thin body was shaking. "I'm sorryyy!" His voice turned into a keening almost wail.

Nolan swooped Ayce into his arms. He sat down and craddled the far to his chest. He rubbed circkes into his back. "Shhh, my love. He won't stop us. I'll make sure of it. I'll make sure we get our house and your cats." He wasn't sure who he was but he would do whatever it took to protect Ayce

Ayce was shaking, still clinging to hin desperately. He seemed on the verge of tears. "You can't you can't you can't he'll just get rid of you like he did my sister and I'll be alone again and…and…and…" He made a soft choking noise. "Everyone leaves and dies and…"

Nolan rocked him back and forth soothingly. "Hush my love, breathe. Everythibg will be alright." He whispered. "We'll be fine. We're going to protect each other okay."

Ayce whimpered softly, clinging to him. "I'm s-sorry…" He whispered. "Sorry sorry I'm sorry…" He sniffled softly.

"No, don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for." Nolan said softly. "I want you to focis on your breathing love, can you do that for me?"

Ayce took in a shuddering breath, still clinging to Nolan. "Okay…" He whispered, a soft whimper escaping his throat.

"In through your nose, put through your mouth. Big breaths for me love." Nolan said calmly

Ayce followed his instructions shakily, body quivering still. He buried his head in Nolan's shoulder and chest, clinging to him as if he were a lifeline.

Nolan just stroked his back soothingly. He kissed his temple softly. He tucked Ayce's head under his chin. "That's it. Just like that love."
