@ElderGod-Icefire
Ayce nodded. "Okay." he replied softly, following Nolan and holding onto his hand tightly. He may have been older than Nolan, but he certainly didn't act like it. Not right now, anyway.
Ayce nodded. "Okay." he replied softly, following Nolan and holding onto his hand tightly. He may have been older than Nolan, but he certainly didn't act like it. Not right now, anyway.
Nolan shut their room door behind them. "Do you want to lay down sweetheart?" He asked
Ayce shook his head. "I…no." he replied, looking over at Nolan. "I-I'm okay."
"Are you sure? You shoild try to catch up on more sleep while I go over our supplies. I'll watch over you."
He shook his head. "I'm okay…b-besides, I was the one that woke you up…" he said, biting his lip and looking down at his feet. "So if anyone sh-should get more sleep, i-it's you…"
Nolan sighed. "Why don't you come sit on my lap while I check our supplies? That way we can make sure we're both relaxing and taking it easy." He suggested
Ayce nodded. "O-okay." he replied, looking over at Nolan after a moment. He bit his lip slightly, swallowing.
Nolan sat down on the floor, reached for his bag, and dumped out the contents. Then he patted his lap, signaling for Ayce to sit
Ayce sat down, a little hesitant at first, then leaned against Nolan, eyes open and flicking around the room with no real purpose in mind.
Nolan smiled. He shifted through the contents on the ground, making a mental note of what he needed to purchase.
(i gtg soon)
Ayce sighed softly, shifting so that he was more at an angle, the side of his head resting on Nolan's shoulder, and closed his eyes.
Nolan leaned his cheek against Ayce. "Doing okay sweetheart?" He asked
He nodded a little. "I th-think so…" He said slowly, clinging to Nolan a little. It was as if he didn't want to let go, didn't want to break contact, for fear that the other male would leave him, or worse.
Nolan gently stroked his side. "Relax darling. I'm not going anywhere." He promised. He brushed his lips against his forehead. "I'm going to stay stay right by your side."
Ayce nodded slightly. "Promise?" He whispered a little childishly. Everyone else leaves so why not you too? Everyone else does once they find out or they're like him and…and you aren't and I don't want to be alone again please don't leave me along again please…
Nolan smiled down at him. "I promise." He pressed a long kiss to his forehead. "Now relax. Close your eyes. Get some rest. I'll be right here. I promise you'll wake up in my arms."
Ayce nodded, cuddling close to him. "Okay…" He whispered, closing his eyes and shifting a little. The Fae looked rather small, vulnerable; then again, he almost always did now.
Nolan stroked his hair soothingly as he counted supplies. He made a mental note of everything he would need to purchase in town later in the day
Ayce fell asleep rather quickly, curled up in Nolan's lap. His breathing was quiet, even, and slow.
Nolan smiled down at him. He looked so peaceful in his arms. He never wanted to let Ayce go.
Ayce shifted a little bit, still sleeping. Now that he wasn't dressed in rags and covered in dirt and blood, with his hair trimmed, he looked a lot better. A lot less like an animal and more like a person. Scars and bloodied wounds peeked out from under the edges of the shirt, but at least the chance of infection wasn't as bad as it had been.
Nolan would need to redress his wounds. He would wait until Ayce woke up before doing that. He didn't move, not wanting to wake him up
(you can timeskip to a little later if you want, or I can)
Ayce kept sleeping, curling up a little bit on Nolan's lap, still sleeping contentedly. "Jay…s-stop it…" He muttered, burying his face in Nolan's chest and clinging to him tighter.
Nolan whispered soothing words to calm Ayce down. Afted some time had passed, he gently shokk him awake. "Wake up darling. I need to take a look at your wounds."
Ayce blinked sleepily, looking at Nolan uncomprehendingly for a moment, then nodded. "Okay." He scooted a little bit, then pulled off his shirt, looking down at the floor so he didn't have to look at his wounds.
