"yeah. What?"

"That wasn't what you thought it was," she said quietly. A subtle blush rose on her cheeks.

"well I thought it was a kiss. Where you actually sucking his brains out because you are actually an alien?" He asked jokingly.

Kate laughed quietly. "No, I… I was doing it to distract him from seeing you."

"so you weren't kissing him because you liked him?" Jay asked her.

She shook her head. "How do you tell someone you like them, anyway?"

"maybe just flat out tell them. Or just kiss them like you did with Matt." He said having no actual experience in how to ask someone out.

"But I don't like Matt. Not in that way, I mean. We're friends. Besides, there's… someone else I think I'm beginning to like. But if I tell them, I don't know how they'll respond."

"well why don't you tell them. You can go off tell them and not instigate me on a subject I have no idea on."

"I don't think that'll work," she replied quietly. Slowly, she leaned down over his bed and kissed him.

He was surprised at first and started kissing her back.

She shifted to sit on the edge of his bed and cupped his face with her hand, kissing him passionately. This was unable to be compared to her kiss with Matt. This one felt so much more… real.

He pulled away after a minute. "So is it me you like?"

"No, I just really felt like kissing you," she said sarcastically. "Of course, it's you!"

"oh ok. Yeah totally didn't get that from the kiss." He joked.

"Shut up," she murmured and kissed him again with a wide smile.

¨I told you nothing everything is just fine¨ she said and kissed his head.
Nothing is 'just fine' when it comes to you my cat, you know I'm not going to stop asking," he started to lightly poke her side

Brink grimaced in pain but kissed her back, gently pulling her towards him "always know how to distract me don't you kitty? He said with a grin

"a gift for you, a curse for me." he was going to kiss her again when his mother came in
"Aw aren't you two cute!" She squeeled
"mom…" He groaned
"Hehe alright alright I'll stop. Vanessa I called your mom and she'll be over in a bit to pick you up, don't worry I told her we saw you after your training and brought you here." She gave them both a mug of hot chocolate and left the room "have fun you two!"
"MOM!" Brink groaned "sorry my mom's a hopeless romantic."
