(Okay.) THE NEXT DAY
Riley, jogged every morning to her favorite coffee shop a few blocks away from her house. Working out was good and so was coffee so she does both every day. Pulling her earphones out, she took a big whiff of the smell of coffee. "Riley," the guy behind the counter calls "The usual?" She smiled at him. "You know it." She answered sitting on the top floor where you can see the best view.
Matthew walked into the coffee shop, removing his hood from his head. He didn't know anyone in town and he'd been here a month already, "Long black." He ordered.
(Meeeeet Matthew.. umm Howard? yeah, let's go with Howard)
Maddy grabbed her drink as the barista called it, quickly darting back to corner with her book, settling down to read.
Savannah yawned, standing next to Riley in line. She didn't order anything, but noticed a good looking guy ordering after they left the cashier. She nudged Riley and gestured over to him. "Any interest?" She mouthed to her friend.
(Maybe my character Zoe and Matthew can be friends because she works there too?)
(Sounds good to me, but technically it's up to Matthew I guess??)
"Sure hes cute, but come on a guy like that would totally not go for a girl like me," she whispered to her friend, taking glances his way.
(sure)
Matthew stood to the side, running a hand through his black hair. He undid his jacket feeling slightly warm, his muscles clearly prominent as the shirt he was wearing was too small. He sighed, he would have to buy a new one.
"I think you've got a chance." Savannah smiled, glancing over at him again. "Not my type, but maybe yours? Go on! You should talk to him." She nudged Riley towards the guy.
Riley nearly spit her coffee out. "My God," clearly embarrassed she walked away and covered her face sitting at a table waiting for Savannah. No way can she talk to him.
Matthew noticed the to girl murmuring and one nudged the other closer towards him. He looked at her, smirked then winked.
Savannah rolled her eyes and sat down beside Riley. "Come on, you won't have a chance if you don't take initiative! Messing things up occasionally makes you seem more human, and therefore, more attractive."
"Looks like someone is getting fired up." Zoe snickered as she was putting whip cream on a dark coffee.
"Shut up Zoe." Matthew said smirking, "I'm allowed to have a bit of fun occasionally."
"You get all the girls, and I'm as single as a pringle." Zoe remarked as she slid the person their coffee.
"I'm still single, I just can't pick a girl I like." He replied.
Riley would still glance at him, hoping he wouldn't notice. He definitely beats all the other boys in this town. No, stupid don't think like that, for all you know he has a girlfriend, I mean how could he not. Her mind was going crazy. She wondered why she was so awkward.
"I'm still single, I just can't pick a girl I like." He replied.
Zoe scoffed. "Everyone in here looks at you like an angel my brother." Zoe mimiced an angel. " And ya know what I get."
"Hey, he's single." Savannah whispered to Riley. "I heard him say so. Just go for it!"
"Let me think, there are guys who like you but you just don't see them, sister." He said, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.
"I mean." Zoe started to do wild gestures and stammered a bit, trying to think of something to say. "They're not my tyyyppee???????"
Grabbing Savannah she made her sit in the chair next to her. "How can you be so calm? I'm freaking out right now." Her heart felt like it was going to bust out of her chest. "What am I even supposed to say?"
