"Hm. Did you kill it just because?"
You're going to be this kid's babysitter. Nice one, Angel. Marlene thinks to herself.

"I would like to advise you to be quieter about it, for the sake of living…" belle whispered to them.
"Okay Belle! The teachers like me, i kill the vermin!"
"Fox?" I ask after he doodles his finger in the air in front of him.
"That's cool," I continue, "We both have an X in our name."
I kick my legs casually and grab the plate, bringing it to the sink to wash it.
"How old are you?"
I shall be back in about an hour!?/
k//
Mar shoots Belle a look as if to say, Thanks, but I have adopted this murderer child now.
-Should I be new to this house or something bc idk when to join in….-
Fox flashed her ten fingers before holding up three. He looked at her curiously, as if to ask her how old she was. This was the first real conversation he'd had in a while.
you can just walk in if you want; they're in the kitchen rn//
"Thirteen, then? That's cool! I'm fourteen, but I'll be fifteen soon."
I look to the ground, searching my mind for another question.
"Could I sit on the counter next to you?"
I ask, drying my hands on the nearby towel that already seemed pretty dirty.
Fox thought a moment before nodding. He scooted over a bit to make room next to him.
"So, Asher, what are you going to do today?" Marlene asked, looking around at everyone. Exila seems to be taking care of Fox, Belle is good on her own, it seems…but Asher needs help. Her help.
Exila flashed an excited smile and bounced up onto the counter next to him, scooting comfortably and looking at him.
"So, how long have you been here? I haven't been here very long so I don't really know what it's like."
Fox scrunched up his face in concentration, thinking. He hadn't been here for too long, just a few months, maybe six? Wow, he hadn't realized how much time had passed. His birthday would come and go soon enough and nothing would change. He cleared his mind and held up seven fingers. That seemed right. Almost seven months he had been here. He hadn't spoken to another human in about nine months.
( Can I join?)
(Definitely)
I smiled and nodded.
"That's a lot of months. How's the experience? Is it good or bad?"
I tried to make this easy for Fox, immediately noticing that he probably refuses to speak, and I had to work with that. Maybe next time we talk I'll bring a notepad and pencil.
Fox shrugged with a slight frown. He glanced around the room and then made the symbol for crazy with his hands, hoping Exila got the message. He inclined his head towards her, as if to ask her how she was faring.

"Well, yeah I guess I could have concluded that it's pretty chaotic. What with the nine year old and all. Have they done anything to punish him? He acts as if he's been rewarded for that sort of thing."
I realize I'm rambling and force myself to stop. I don't want to spill too much and make him nervous, so I allow a bit of room for him to tell me about himself. That is, until I realize he's looking at me with an expecting look.
"Oh, I haven't had anything particularly interesting happen to me. At least, not yet. I apologize if I come off as talkative. Now that I'm going here they said I couldn't talk to my therapist anymore, so I have a lot on my mind."
Fox shrugged, looking notably less worried now that Exila was doing so much talking. He didn't mind. In fact, he liked that she was talking a lot. Less for him to have to say. He smiled briefly.
Belle moves away from the wall and cautiously walks across the room for food.
A car pulled up to the home. Out came a man in a suit. Next to him was a girl named Lily. She looked up at the mansion. “Hey I thought the judge said I had to go to a group home? Not some mansion!” She said looking over to the man. The man is her social worker. He just held a cold expression and gripped her upper arm before pracally dragging her to the front door. He raised his fist and knocked.
