Tyler smiled as he cut into his pancake. 'Thanks. Oh, I forgot - we've got to look really colourful at the pride parade. You got any rainbow-coloured stuff?'
Tyler smiled as he cut into his pancake. 'Thanks. Oh, I forgot - we've got to look really colourful at the pride parade. You got any rainbow-coloured stuff?'
“Uh, I don’t think so. I don’t really wear bright colors often. Been told it doesn’t match my skin tone,” Yeah said with a shrug, guestering to his darker skin as he shoved another bite of pancake into his mouth.
'Rainbows go with everything!' Tyler exclaimed, taking another bite of his pancake. 'I've got too much rainbow stuff - bowties, braces, ties, flags, tops, shoes… everything.'
“Yeah? Vibrant colors do seem to look well on you,” Yeon said, motioning to Tyler’s blue hair.
Tyler ran a hand through his blue hair. 'Man, I've had this all different colours - green, purple, pink, yellow… I think I had it white once. I think the bleach is slowly destroying my hair, though. You ever dyed your hair?'
“God no. I would have to bleach it, it would destroy my darker hair,” Yeon said, combing back a stray piece with his fingers. “I don’t take anything to my hair besides grade-A products.”
'Fair enough,' said Tyler, finishing off his pancake. 'The first time I bleached my hair, I was fifteen, and it was neon yellow hair. My mum went mental, and so did the school. It made my hair really dry, but then my hair got used to it.'
He placed his plate in the dishwasher. 'If you haven't got any bright clothes, I could always do some facepaint for you.'
Yeon eventually finished his pancake as well, putting it into the sink. “Facepaint, huh? We’ll see how that goes, I’ll look like an idiota,” he said with a chuckle, before translating. “Moron.”
Tyler wandered towards the living room and gestured for Yeon to follow. He pulled open a drawer and grabbed all of his face essentials - cleanser, face paint, makeup, and brushes. 'You ready for some amazing makeup skills?'
Yeon followed Tyler into the living room, and his brows raised when he saw all of the various paints and makeup. He chuckled and slowly nodded. “As ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.”
As Tyler sat down on his armchair, he patted the chair opposite it. 'What do you want? Rainbow flag, a rainbow tiger… something rainbow-y.'
Yeon sat down, leaning his elbows against his knees. “A tiger sounds badass,” he said with a grin.
Excited, Tyler began to paint on a rainbow tiger. He replaced the orange with rainbow colours, and gave him some epic stripes.
It took him about fifteen minutes. 'All done,' he said, showing Yeon the mirror.
Yeon looked at himself in the mirror and gave a whistle. “Damn, Tyler, that looks great,” he said, giving him a grin.
'Thanks, I can be quite artistic,' said Tyler, turning the mirror to himself. He painted a trans pride flag on one cheek, and the rainbow flag on the other.
'I'm just gonna go get changed, if you want a drink you can go get one,' he said before speeding off upstairs.
“Alright,” Yeon called, standing up and walking into the kitchen. He searched through the cupboards for a glass. When he found one, he filled it with water, drinking it quickly.
Tyler realised he wasn't wearing his binder and felt self-conscious momentarily. Yeon had seen him without his binder on…
He decided not to worry - who cared?
Pulling on his binder, he buttoned up a white shirt and pulled on some black jeans. He clipped on his rainbow bowtie and suspenders and pulled on some rainbow converse.
As he hopped downstairs, he called to Yeon, 'Ready to go?'
“Yeah, let me get my shoes on!” Yeon called back, setting the glass down in the sink. He went to where he had left his dark sneakers and slipped them on, tying the laces tight.
Tyler grabbed his keys, waiting by the door. 'When we get there, we can buy some rainbow flags and shit.'
“Yeah? Sounds great,” Yeon said, walking over to the door. “This’ll be fun.” He gave Tyler a wink, and opened the door for him.
Tyler hopped on his motorbike, starting it up. He patted the seat behind him.
Yeon got on the bike behind Tyler, loosely slipping one of his arms around his waist.
Tyler felt Yeon's arm around his waist and felt safe at once. He drove on, weaving through the streets until he arrived at the event.
Stalls covered in rainbows filled the street, and brightly-dressed people strolled around. He spotted Alex, Billie, and Jay near a food stall.
Alex waved. 'Hey!' he shouted, and Tyler hopped off the bike.
He turned to Yeon, 'Come on, let's get this parade started!'
Yeon hopped off the bike once they were stopped, giving Alex a wave. He chuckled as Tyler and walked over to the group, introducing himself.
He spoke with the others for a bit, then went to buy a big, over-your-shoulders rainbow flag. He went back to the others before he noticed people getting into a formation. The parade was starting. He joined the people and called the others over as a man spoke into a megaphone.
'Come on, it's starting,' said Tyler, listening as the megaphone man told them where the parade ended. He threw the flag over his and Yeon's shoulders.
