Aerwyn laughed a little and came outside. She took a deep breath and sighed happily. "Its such a beautiful day." She said walking down the street, searching for that cafe she saw on the way here. Upon seeing it, she smiled "here it is!" Moonlight Cafe, written in brown cursive letters over an awning, had delicious smells coming from the open door where sounds of shatter and laughter could be heard. A couple tables with umbrellas dotted the outside where not many people sat. "Want to sit out here, Layla?" She asked
Robins stomach began to grumble. Although she had just eaten, she always felt hungry after a long flight. She shrugged on her jacket and headed back to the cafe she had previously stopped at.
“Sure,” Layla agreed with a smile. The air was filled with muffled conversation and the smells of coffee and food, making Layla’s mouth water. Birdsong mixed with the sounds of the cafe to form a relaxing soundtrack.
Aerwyn nodded and headed to a table near the edge and waved a hand to alert the server they were there. "The menus are written into the table, isn't that neat." She said, trying to make conversation
“Yeah, it’s pretty cool,” Layla agreed. “Thank goodness it’s written in English too, because I don’t know any other European languages.” She studied the menu, trying to figure out what she wanted.
Aerwyn hummed in agreement and looked at the menu before making a decision and looking around for a waiter. She made eye contact with one and managed to get them to come over. "Hello! Welcome to the cafe, may I take your order?" They asked. Aerwyn smiled and pointed at the menu. "I'd like a sweet vanilla latte with caramel and a chocolate croissant on the side please!" The waiter took down the order and turned to Layla. "And you miss?" They asked
After a brief pause for her to gather her thoughts, Layla told the waiter her order. “I’ll have your strawberry lemonade and a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant,” she said, glancing at the menu to make sure she had everything right before smiling at the waiter.
The waiter nodded, writing everything down and smiled. "I'll return with your orders in a short while." They responded. Aerwyn smiled in response and out her arms on the table. "So, where would you travel to if you ever had the chance?" She asked
After a brief moment of thought, Layla smiled. “You know, I’ve always kind of wanted to go to Thailand,” she remarked, a faraway look in her eye. “There’s no specific reason other than I love Thai food and haven’t been to Asia, but still. What about you?”
"I'd like to visit Europe, no specific place, just the old ruins of the past." She smiled. "Places like Stonehenge really interest me so I'd lie to see them for my self." Just then the waiter appeared with their drinks and set them down. "Your drinks are here and I will bring hour croissants in just a few moments."
“Thank you,” Layla said to the waiter before taking a sip of her drink. It was delicious; just the right amount of sweetness. “That’s really cool,” she added to Aerwyn. “What’s your favorite place that you’ve been to?”
"Mine would have to be either the Forests in Ireland or the glacier parks in Canada in the north." She said taking a sip of her drink and nearly burning her mouth. "Ow.. what about you? What is your favourite place?"
“Probably London, England, though I was only there once, briefly,” she responded, taking another sip of lemonade. “It’s really interesting and I would love to go again.”
"Favourite genre of books?" She asked
Adella slipped off the train, smiling at the other passengers. She headed to the hotel she had booked ahead of time, so she was all set on that part.
Ava sighed. There was a group of people nearby and they seemed to be having fun, and that kinda sparked a feeling of loneliness inside her. Maybe she could… no, that'd be too weird. A random person walking up to strangers and talking with them, nah. She watched them from afar, and wondered what they might be talking about. When a server finally arrived with her tea, she noticed that it wasn't what she ordered. Before she could say something about it, the server had already left. She picked it up carefully and walked over to the group. Perfect, an excuse to talk to them. "Excuse me, but did any of you order an earl grey tea? I think they delivered the wrong order…"
"No, I didn't," Layla said, glancing at Aerwyn. "I don't think either of us did. Maybe you could talk to a waiter about it?" She smiled at the girl, trying to look friendly and open.
She gave a weak smile. "Ah, I'm sorry for bothering you…" she gave a slight bow and turned to leave, a bit embarrassed.
"No worries. You are welcome to join us." Aerwyn smiled and gestured to the empty seat
"Oh, uh, okay! Thanks! I'm, uh, Ava," she replied. She took a seat, and set the tea down. She may not've ordered the tea, but she like earl grey. It was fine.
Robin sat down outside the cafe. She noticed a small group of people off to her left, most likely locals. She thought to herself, Hey, it’s a good a time as any to try and figure out where that festival is. Pushing her chair in, she made her way over to the group.
“Hi, do you guys where that festival thing is taking place? The Aurorieal Festival, that is,” she continued. “I just need some directions I think.”
Layla glanced at the newcomer. "Sort of…I really only have a map to go off of though," she admitted, looking at the others and asking with a glance if they knew anything.
"Wouldn't it be in the city or something? I don't really know," Ava said sheepishly. "I mean, I don't really know either, you could ask a local…"
Imperos heard she people talking about the location of the festival so he finished he muffin then walked over to them carrying his coffee. "I hear you need directions to the festival?"
"Haha yeah, that could be helpful!" she replied. "You're a local I presume? Come, sit down." she invited.
