"Try and stop me." He said, his eye slightly glowing red
Caya spread her wings before reluctantly muttered something under her breath.
Diren started to head back in the direction he had come, toward the edge of the forest. "This way, princess."
"I'm not a princess," she growled, following him angrily.
"If you don't want to be called one, don't act like it," he said airily. He paused behind a tree. "They built their own house," he told her. "You want to try to sneak in and hold a knife to his throat, or just kick down the door?"
"I don't act like a princess," she muttered under her breath, surveying the house. "It looks empty. I'll go see." She lowered her body and crept over the Earth, her silver dagger concealed in her palm.
"I don't think it's empty…" Diren said, lowering his voice. He dropped into a crouch.
She paused. "Why do you think that?" she hissed.
He shrugged quickly, "It was a big gang, but I only saw four or five people chasing me. They have to have quite a few people still here, even if others left."
She moved the dagger expertly between her fingers. "So what are you saying? That stealth isn't the ideal plan?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Not necessarily. It's that or brute force, which I don't think will be effective, unless you have another idea…?
Caya ran different strategies through her head rapidly. "I'll think of something…"
"We could wait here and snatch the next guy who comes out of there," he muttered. "And interrogate him. Then tie him up to give us time to get out."
"Too long," she replied, keeping a steady eye on the base.
"What's the rush?"
She looked over at him with a hard gaze. "Anything else, Sherlock?"
Ara, who had followed them, smiled and popped out of the doorway. "You guys are loud," she observed.
Caya whipped around and pressed the dagger against the girl's throat. "Who are you?"
Ara simply smirked at the girl and pushed the dagger away, trying not to think about how she could kill Ara right then and there. "Just a neighbor."
Caya narrowed her eyes and gripped the dagger tightly, ready to kill the girl in an instant if necessary. "Identify yourself."
Ara held up her hands mockingly. "Relax, princess. Don't throw a fit." She held out her hand. "Name's Ara. And please don't try to stab me with that or I will tear you apart with my teeth. Oh, and are you excited for the Elemental Games? I know I am. Killing people is fun." She grinned.
Caya scowled. "I'm not a princess," she snarled.
Ara shrugged. "Suit yourself, Your Highness."
Caya twirled her dagger menacingly between her fingers, contemplating stabbing the girl in the throat, the heart, or the stomach.
Ara grinned, guessing the girl's thoughts. "Anyway, big day today! Not so nice meeting you, Your Highness!" With that, she jumped out the window into the lake beneath it and vanished off to the Water Territory to get ready for the Elemental Games choosing.
