Caya walked through the middle of the town, on her way to a meeting with the leaders. She kept her head raised and her eyes alert, daring anyone to come close to her.
Brix leaned against the outside of the building Caya was headed for, smoking a cigarette. He took one last hit as he saw Caya approaching and grinned slyly at her. "Hey, darling. What might you be doing around here this lovely day?"
She snorted. "Oh please. Just stay out of my way, will you?"

Peipe kept her head down and walked across the school yard elsewhere. She could see the shoes of other kids approaching her quickly. No, no, no, no, no… Too late. One of the bigger teens in their class pinned her against the fence. She whimpered pitifully.
"Aww, look," he teased. "She made a cute little noise!" His friends all laughed.
Peipe didn't struggle much, just prepared herself for what she knew was coming next – the beatings.

Ara smirked at Eli's expression as he realized that the rest of his gang was unconscious. "Not so brave now, are you?"

Era-Lee sobbed as the girls walked away, laughing. They had once been her best friends. But that had been years ago, and now they seemed to want to hurt her more than ever. For what, she had no idea.

Eli backed away from the shark-like grin Ara was sending him. She sauntered closer, placing her hands on his chest, looking up at him coyly through long dark lashes. "I'm flattered that you decided to go after me, Eli, I really am, but it's getting annoying."

"Hey, the little wimp is crying!" One of the girls, Nian, said, and the other girls laughed. Era-Lee turned and ran, ignoring the laughs that followed, tears falling down her cheeks.

The boy smirked and punched Peipe in the stomach. She bit her lip heavily to keep from crying out. He hit her again, harder, this time on the side.
"Your parents make everything in life harder for us!"
Peipe held back a rush of tears. "Don't talk about my parents that way."
The boy only laughed. "Yeah? What are you gonna to about it?" If he wasn't hitting her, his friends were, She could hardly respond if she wanted to. Bile stung her throat.

Ara leaned up to Eli, so their faces were inches apart, and grinned as she heard his breath hitch. She summoned an icicle and just as he leaned in, she stabbed him in the side and danced away, laughing as he fell, clutching his side. "I told you not to bother me. Let this be a lesson to anyone who comes after Frostbite. I will kill them myself." With that, she skipped away.

After a few hours, Era-Lee went home, wiping away her tears so that Jenson wouldn't see. She entered her house, holding an armful of herbs to make it look like she had been picking them instead of sobbing in the woods.

Eventually, the boys stopped. They let her go and laughed when she slumped to the ground. They hurled foul names at her as they walked away, but she did nothing. After they were gone, Peipe began to cry softly, thinking that there was no one else around. She curled into a tight ball on the leaves and whimpered, because sobbing would've hurt too much.

"Why dknt you fight back?" Killian asked simply from his place on the low roof. He had moved to a laying down position and was now staring at the sky, his red eyes growing darker with each passing second, a trait he felt only he had.

Peipe looked up and flinched away from him. "I-I don't kn-know…" she stammered quietly.

She looked up at him, then looked away. "I d-don't want my parent to- to worry about m-me. Th-They- They already have enough t-to do."

It was happening again. Diren could barely breathe, he felt like he was being buried alive even though he was indoors and sitting on his bed. He blinked rapidly and buried his face in his pillow to muffle the sounds, even though the house was empty. What's wrong with me. He needed a distraction.

Piro was starting to get really tired of this. Brother was cornering him behind one of their hideouts - for the sixth time. This time Piro wasn't sure what he wanted, maybe just a chance to break his nose. He was getting close to that already. Piro scrambled to get away, slippery as a pickpocket, but he had forgotten Brother was as good as him when it came to that. A big hand closed around his small shoulder, pulling him back.

"How to defend yourself. I've seen you get beat up more times than you can count." He muttered

Her eyes darted around nervously, as if expecting it to be a trap. "I-I-I don't kn-know…"

She recoiled away from him and covered her head in her arms instinctively.

She slowly unraveled. Her shirt lifted up the tiniest bit, but he was still able to see and excessive amount of bruises.

Hesitantly, Peipe approached the gym. Her eyes darted anxiously for the boy she was supposed to meet.
