"Of where?"
"Of where?"
"Here." He waved a hand around. "The Districts."
She hadn't been expecting that. "There is no way out," she retorted.
"But how do you know?"
Caya narrowed her eyes. She didn't like where this was going now. "I have my reasons to believe what I believe. Now. If you'll kindly get out of my territory…"
"I will if you tell me what you're going to do about the other gang."
"I'm going to find out who they are."
"And I'm coming with you." Diren saluted.
"No," she replied firmly.
"Why." He crossed his arms again darkly.
"Because. I. Said so."
"I'm coming with you, and you can't stop me," he yawned.
"No," she repeated. "I'm not taking you."
"You're not taking me, I'm coming with you. I'm not a little kid."
"No!" she said again, harsher.
He takes a step forward. "Why not?"
She narrowed her eyes. "You'll slow me down."
"That's rude. How would I slow you down?"
She flicked her fingers absently. "I work alone."
"I am going to find out who that gang was, and you do not have the right to deny me that," Diren said abruptly. His patience was starting to thin and he shoved his hair out of his eyes. "If you work alone, I'm so sorry, but I'm not going to slow you down unless you make me." He turned back in the direction he h ad come. "And I think you need me, because one, you don't know where their territory is, two, you don't know what they look like so for all you know you might start threatening some random gang, and three, how are you possibly going to get this leader to both give you enough information and let you walk out of there unharmed?"
Caya gritted her teeth. She hated to admit it, but he was right. "Fine," she spat, folding her wings back. "You can come."
"I'm coming too. You do not have a choice in the matter. I need info and the I foni need isnt for the eyes of peasants like you." Killian grinned
Caya narrowed her eyes sharply. "Peasants?" she spat.
He smirked "peasants."
"You are not coming," she stated, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
