“Is that a good thing?” Vaughn asked with an arched brow. He tried again with the crayons, but still couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. He gave a sharp curse, throwing the box of crayons across the room.
“Is that a good thing?” Vaughn asked with an arched brow. He tried again with the crayons, but still couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. He gave a sharp curse, throwing the box of crayons across the room.
"Yeah! I just imagined that it was you I was trying to zap, and I barely did anything!" Kaz exclaimed, though he froze when he realized that Vaughn could take that offensively. "I mean, um, I don't want to zap you, it was just an idea, I promise," he said quickly, raising his hands in surrender subconsciously as he spoke
“Yeah, I get it,” Vaughn said, moving onto his back. He covered his eyes using his forearms, feeling frustrated. He couldn’t control himself. Why did he have to get stuck with this ability?
“Maybe…maybe it’d work for you too?” Kaz suggested slowly, bending down to grab the crayons and hand them to Vaughn
“What, to imagine you as a fucking crayon?” Vaughn asked, tone unintentionally sharp. He didn’t mean to snap at Kaz, but he was so stressed out by this new ability of his.
"Just…Imagine the crayon as my finger or some shit, I don't know," Kaz shrugged, wiping at his nose again. This nosebleed was really starting to piss him off, but he had given up on stopping it
Vaughn exhaled heavily as he took out a crayon. He frowned down at it as he closed his hand around it, doing his best to think of it as one of Kaz’s fingers. He heard the whispers snicker, telling him to break it with a sneer. He tried to concentrate, but because of them, he was unable to. So, the crayon ended up smashed in his hand.
"Hey, you almost got it. Here, try another one," Kaz said softly, handing him another crayon. He desperately hoped Vaughn wasn't stuck like this forever. How would they do…anything without hurting each other if they couldn't control their mutations?
Vaughn breathed heavily as he held onto the crayon. He clenched his eyes shut tight as he concentrated on not breaking it. He could feel a small crack be made in it, but he didn’t completely crush the whole thing like he had done before.
"You did it!" Kaz exclaimed happily. "Here, try another one," he said excitedly, handing him the second to last crayon in the box as he watched Vaughn
(Wait, so Jules is gonna be privy to peoples thoughts, right? Tenor's head is gonna mess her up. Also I'm back!)
(ayy)
(SOOOOOOO, is Tenor still in y'alls room? ALSO!! UPDATES!! I AM EXCITED!)
(no, Jules took him back to their room)
(Welcome back man)
Vaughn gave Kaz a very faint smile, taking the crayon from Kaz. He concentrated on not breaking any of it this time. And it was almost completely together after a moment, just a tiny crack down the middle.
"You did it!" Kaz exclaimed softly, wincing as his own volume hurt his head. He decided to just give Vaughn a celebratory hug, grinning up at him proudly
(BOYFRIENDSHIP! YAY!)
(Lmaoo)
Vaughn smiled a tiny bit more. He stayed still as he allowed Kaz to hug him. He didn’t make any moves to return the hug, though. He didn’t want to hurt Kaz, just in case.
"Hey, maybe when we get our shit together with these mutations, we could bust out," Kaz whispered, a devious smile crossing his face. "And then we could find somewhere to go, where we'd be happy without any asshole foster parents or people who expect too much."
Vaughn’s smile grew and he shrugged his shoulders loosely as he looked down at Kaz. “They’d probably shoot us or something if we tried, is my guess,” he pointed out.
"Not if we shoot them first. We just gotta kiss their ass or something, until they think we're loyal, and then bam!" Kaz exclaimed quietly, holding out a hand as a bright arc of purple electricity streaked across it. "We'll kick their asses and run."
Vaughn gave a quiet chuckle, grinning down at Kaz. “Yeah, hopefully it could go that well,” he said, nodding his head slowly. “What do you plan to do when you get out of here?”
"Dunno. Think I'll go rescue my cousin from my aunt and uncle first. He may be almost 14, but I'm sure he'd be happy to live with us instead of his asshole parents," Kaz mused, leaning his head on Vaughn's shoulder. "And then I'll get a job at some tattoo place. Get a couple more myself and all that stuff. Might even go to college."
Vaughn nodded a bit, smiling down at Kaz. “That sounds like an amazing future,” he said softly. He wasn’t sure what he would do if he got out. He didn’t have a foster home to go to, and he had no family. There was nothing for him besides Kaz.
"And maybe…you could move in with me?" Kaz asked slowly, looking up at Vaughn hopefully. He didn't see the point in living somewhere without Vaughn. Hell, he could barely imagine them apart
