(I need to draw Koki, my style is just cartoony enough for it to look good.)

The woman knelt down and smiled before she took Koki’s hand herself and shook it with a warm grin. She nearly had any makeup on her so it was clear that her beauty was completely natural.
”Nice to meet you too dear, the name’s Wuguan, the fourth judge—“ she looked up at the three other visitors ”—nice to meet you all too, pleasure to be working with you all” she spoke up with a subtle giggle.

Koki frowned. "Wait, working with us? Sorry, I'm a bit slow, but what?" Koki stumbled over her words a bit, she hadn't been paying a lot of attention. She was blaming it on the ADD.

@CasiCasino group

”Oh, I’m going to be assisting you all during your time helping living people. Don’t worry, I won’t interfere with any of your work, I’ll just be helping whenever anyone needs me” the female judge answered, still in her kneeling position. She had a beaming sense to her which showed an innocent kind of appeal.

Ryuusei turned around looking at the man next to him with his good eye.
"Japan? You mean 'Nihon-koku?' Yes. I used to live in Heian Kyo." he responded, in a similarly hushed tone.

@CasiCasino group

Kaito raised his brow a bit before he realized where the man he was talking to was from.
“Hajimemashite, yoroshiku onegai shimasu Ryuusei-san” he immediately responded by instinct.
I don’t know ancient Japanese… is it the same? Please let it me it’s the same he was mentally shaking but kept his physical posture calm.

@Kinarymo

Ryuusei nodded his head at the greeting, before frowning slightly. He sensed a tad bit of tension behind Kaito's calm mask - his eye was trained to recognize when emotions were hidden, given life was not kind and many monsters often hid behind a kind face.
"You seem puzzled. Are you not from Nihon-koku? You don't look like a gaikokujin to me."
He had noticed that everyone else looked very different from him, yet he choked it up to them being from a different country. But Kaito, the man next to him, didn't look any different from him - same skin tone, facial feature type and even his name was normal. So why was he acting weird?

@Kinarymo

(bro, i love those songs * - * <3 I think "First love" by Joe Hisaishi could also fit, it's soft but it gives me the same vibes)

@CasiCasino group

“I am from Japa— uh, Nihon-koku and I am also from Kyot— Heian Kyo, but it occurred to me that we are from the same place but from a different time” Kaito answered, explaining why he had a confused expression.
“I’m assuming you’re not familiar with the name, but I’m from the Reiwa era” he added, wanting to confirm his thoughts.

@Kinarymo

"Reiwa era…? I've never heard of it. I thought this is still the Daido era." he replied, his words fading at the end of the sentence.
A different time? What did he mean by this? Had he been dead for more than just a few moments? Could it be that he had been stuck in the pond for years or perhaps even more? None of this made sense to him.
This Reiwa era… what's it like? Does it come after Daido's end?"

@Kinarymo

(joe hisaishi is a great composer, i hugely recommend him. He made many of the tracks for Studio Ghibli movies - my personal favourite is Reprise/Again from Spirited Away)
(other stuff i listen to are Sora ni Utaeba, The Day and others :"D my playlist is very diverse)

@CasiCasino group

“Daido…?” Kaito recognized the name from his history class.
“That era ended in the year 810… uh sir…” he looked Ryuusei in the eyes “… I may or may not be twelve centuries apart from where you came from” he scratched his neck nervously as well. It had been a weird thought but it could be possible that Ryuusei was related to him in one way or another but he would like to not be wrapping his head around that idea just yet.
“As for Reiwa, we have a sustainable and stable economy now, no wars happening in the country anymore which is a good thing, we’re also a country where foreigners, or as you would say Gaiko’s, visit a lot as we are a huge tourist pool and they would spend a lot of money while they’re here” he explained it in the easiest way possible, not wanting to get into details about technology and all that as that would probably take a decade or a life to explain to Ryuusei as to what they are.

@Kinarymo

"T-twelve centuries…?"
Missing on a few years was easy to accept but twelve full centuries?? His human body must have long been turned into fish food and erased off the face of the earth. Heck, maybe the pond didn't even exist anymore at this point. Twelve centuries, holy smokes, that was insane.
Ryuusei was feeling like someone had pulled the rug from under his feet, his stomach flooded with a sinking feeling. That was a crap ton of lost time - had he been stuck in limbo all this time??? He felt like he was going to be sick, but held his ground.

"No more wars you say? That's good. Also, you say a lot of foreigners come by? How do they get there?"

@Kinarymo

(I do listen to some vocaloid, tho it depends entirely if i like the song or not - chaotic musical taste, i know. I think i could count Mind Brand, Copycat, Again, 3331? im not experienced in the field)
(also, possible relation between them? that sounds interesting xd)

@CasiCasino group

“Some by water, some by… air…” he was pushed to a dead end now. The thing Kaito should and was doing was thinking of a way to explain to a man from the ninth century what an ‘airplane’ was in the easiest way possible. There was no way he’s going to sit down and draw how the physics of aerodynamics work.

The second judge cleared his throat loudly, signaling for the conversation to ideally come to a stop.
”The healing process will begin soon, each of you will sit in front of one of the musicians and of course, as most things go here when you are a wanted individual, you’re the one to choose which one you would prefer” the second judge mentioned.

Kaito turned his face to the judge.
Thank god! That was damn close! he mentally cheered.
“Well, Ryuusei-sama, which one would you like?” It was normal for Kaito to give the first pick to the elderly but we’re talking twelve centuries of difference here, he had to give Ryuusei at least a moderate level of respect.

@CasiCasino group

(Whoo, Mind Brand and Copycat? You know the less popular ones for some reason lol. I just wanted to know, nothing much. It’s normal for us Asian to want to know random and seemingly useless information as we feel better with ourselves when we know them, I think most Asians can agree XD)

@Kinarymo

The boy looked at Kaito with a slightly funny look on his face before redirecting his attention to the musicians. He definitely wasn't used to someone addressing him in a respectful way, his entire life everyone else had looked down on him for not being financially lucky; the only person he could remember addressing him with respect was the girl he'd helped escape from the lord's court. Her last words to him were a warm respectful and grateful thank you, as she disappeared into the night, a few minutes before the guards found him and seized him. He wondered if she managed to find the better life she had been hoping for.

He looked at each of the musicians, examining their instruments and their faces, before picking the one holding the flute. He was most familiar with the simple bamboo instrument, given it was quite easy to make and was quite common among the simple people. He walked in front of the musician, kneeling silently

Koki bounded over to the person with the Biwa, tilting her head for a moment before sitting cross-legged in front of them. "Hello, I'm Koki Popoli, Koki's a nickname." She introduced.

@Kinarymo

(i really dont keep up with trends, i listen to whatever inspires me, even if it's unpopular xd Im quite unpopular myself :"> Also, tis oki, random useless info is pretty interesting at times tbh)
(i may have also unwillingly created a possible relation prompt. U know, the girl?)

@CasiCasino group

The flute musician in front of Ryuusei nodded before he took off his mask, setting it beside him. The same action was preformed by the Biwa player before he gave Koki a warm smile in greetings.

Kaito had already had his eyes on the Koto player, and thank god that he was still free. He went over and knelt in front of the musician, giving a small bow in greetings to the man. The Koto player then took off his mask, setting it aside as well.

There was only the Shamisen player left so Jennifer had to take him. The last musician took his mask off which then revealed something.

The four musicians looked almost identical as if they were all from the same family.

The fourth judge walked over to the fountain of water as she casted a soft spell. The water droplets started to form into a shape; the shape of piano keys which floated in front of her.

The judge was the first to start the melodious tune to which the Shakuhachi (Flute) player followed, following him was the Koto, the Shamisen, and lastly the Biwa. Within a minute, all the musicians were playing a melodious, almost hypnotizing tune.

Surprised and obviously shocked, Kaito glanced down at the fact that the blood on his chest and clothes were being wiped completely clean by a greenish smoke which had surrounded him and moved accordingly to the rhythm of the Koto. He also felt a relaxed sensation like his body was being massaged and was going through a ‘reset’ process, it felt great. He felt like he had the energy to be himself again.

He turned to see what had happened to the other three; noting the fact that they all had different colored smokes surrounding them, colors matching the mask of the musicians accordingly; red for the Flute player, yellow for the Shamisen player, and lastly blue for the Biwa player.

(Sorry Cloudy! I had to do it ;^;)
