(Quick question, since Koki has the shrapnel and a shit ton of internal bleeding. Would the shrapnel just crumble into sand?)
(Exactly, they would disintegrate and afterwards, it would appear as if nothing had happened to Koki, the precious lil’ bean)
(Perfect!)
Ryuusei had closed his eyes as soon as the smoke appeared, letting it do it's work. He enjoyed the tender feeling it gave him, as his body slowly lost its numbness and its rigidity, the flexibility and sensations returning to it. The blue tones in his skin started faded away, making way for the warmth of the long lost colors.
The boy could feel the water on his body drying away, his right eye socket filling up with a warm yet pleasant sensation that drove away the deaf pain that had been pulsating in his skull until now. Once the feeling of dry clothes and hair returned, Ryuusei finally noticed just how much he had missed them; his wrists were no longer restrained by the rope remnants, making him feel like he had finally been freed from his old curse.
When the music started to play, the large pieces of rock impaled on Koki's body started to crumble into dust. While the rocks disintegrated, the blood from all of Koki's wounds seemed to travel to her hair and eyes. Her hair went from a light brown to a bright red and her old brown eyes, turned a light red and swirling.
Kaito smiled softly when he saw that everyone was happy that their old bodies were back. He was, too, very happy that he got to see his old form without the pile of blood.
Soon enough, the music stopped gracefully before the musicians put their masks back on. They then stood up with their instruments in their hands, bowing in unison before they left the hall via the doors that led to the other side of the building.
The water piano keys of the fourth judge returned to the fountain as the female walked to the four people.
”How was it? Everyone all patched up now?” she gave a small head tilt with a faint grin.
(And I’ve gotta go——)
Ryuusei hesitated for a few seconds before opening his eyes.
The first thing that was noticeable about him was that his right eye socket was no longer empty; instead, a lively looking iris appeared underneath the eyelids, dashing from side to side in unison with the left one as they scanned their surroundings. Previously glazed over and grey, his eyes now displayed two lovely green and blue irises, filled with life. The purple-blue hue that had stained his cheeks was gone as well, making way for the warm skin tone that had been absent from his body for so many years. Without the blue hue, Ryuusei's face looked younger and could even be described as pretty; smooth unblemished skin, soft yet defined cheeks, lips almost as red as a woman's - he was definitely the type of man the women of his time longed for. Too bad his life had ended abruptly at the tender age of seventeen.
He raised his hands to look at them, turning them on all sides, as if rediscovering his long lost colors and mobility. He stared at his hands for a few good moments before covering his face with them, as if convincing himself he wasn't hallucinating.
His clothes were no longer wet and dirty, but they still looked very old and worn, with torns here and there.
One major difference in his appearance was the fact that his previously dark locks had now turned silvery white, the now dry long bright hair almost touching the floor. The boy did not seem to notice it, or if he did he was not phased by it whatsoever.
He raised his head from his hands as he stood up, revealing a tiny bright flame like mark on his forehead.
Koki blinked for a moment, her vision shifted tints as she blinked. "Ummm, well, I can see in different colors now… I guess." She muttered, steadying herself with a hand on the floor. Koki's eyes went wide when she looked down and saw that her hands were completely red, like she had just pushed her hand into someone's chest and now her hands were stained with blood.
The fourth judge looked at them individually. She understood what was happening so she didn’t blame them.
”You’ll soon get used to being complete again, don’t worry. As for excessive stains, you can clean that up in your rooms—” the fourth judge started before she turned on her heel ”—of which I’m going to take you all to now, please follow me” the fourth judge had her hands behind her back as she did a little stroll towards the back door.
The second judge kept silent. He turned to the four spirits and…
”You heard her” he spoke up before he paced towards the front door. The duties of a judge can never be estimated, apparently he was called back to his court now.
Following the second judge's words, Ryuusei walked after the forth judge obediently, letting her lead the way.
He felt his muscles tense as if he'd worked himself down to the bone, tho the feeling could be attributed to the fact that he'd gotten used to being stiff. Every step he took felt light and fluid, his loose hair felt like a breeze flowing on his shoulders and back - his old body felt strange, as if no longer his own, despite having spent his short seventeen years in it.
He turned his head around, looking at the others to see if they would follow.
(o hei, i rediscovered some vids i really love for their emotional baggage. The first one is a fan video for the novel Heaven Official's Blessing - im a sucker for this one since it's so well written and it kills me emotionally)

(O hey, the second clip’s in my native language :D)
Kaito was right behind Ryuusei and had raised a brow when the man turned around.
“Something on your mind?” In reality, Kaito was older than Ryuusei but he felt that it was fitting for him to respect the man instead of the reversed way. He had something else in mind as well…
The fourth judge’s kinda cute, such a shame she has a special someone… he thought to himself, keeping this face a blank one.
(oo really ovo? Im kinda curious about what it says, i can't find the song anywhere but in this vid qvq)
(I’ll translate it for ya when I’ve got the time :3)
"Mn. I just wanted to make sure you guys didn't stay behind." he replied.
His voice was much smoother now, no longer raspy and dry like before. He didn't smile, but his expression was benevolent; to him, Kaito was no different than the people he used to live alongside of. Maybe because the idea of being centuries apart hadn't exactly settled into his head just yet
(aaa, thank u q3q <3 Also, do u have any intention for Ryu and Kaito to have some sort of connection? Like, Ryu helped out one of his ancestors or smth?)
Kaito shrugged it off as he turned around to the other two before he turned back to see where they were going.
The fourth judge had led them outside the court, back to the misty lands of the afterworld. A building stood to the right of the fourth court, it looked like a mansion. Even though the mansion looked quite old, it was as clean as if the mansion was built just a while before the guests arrived.
”Here is where you will be staying in, one room per person for privacy reasons” Wuguan stated as she gestured towards the building. She then paced towards the building.
“Lord Wuguan!! Lord Wuguan!!” A spirit ran towards the fourth judge with eyes full of fear.
“Please help us, a demon—a demon—“ the figure struggled to get their words out.
(I’ll get the translation to you tomorrow)
(I already have something in mind, you’ll see this soon •^•”)
(ooooooofffffffffffff sorry I was gone, like I said before I had that field trip to go on. We went to a holocaust museum and it was definitely an educational experience, but obviously really sad)
Jennifer, having been admiring the room around them, had missed the conversation between Ryuusei and Kaito. She was glad that the wound in her chest had finally been healed, and couldn't wait to get out of her bloodstained clothes.
(No worries, no worries!)
Ryuusei's whipped his head around at the arrival of the panicked spirit; to him, the word of a demon roaming around were a common thing - back in his time, superstition was absolutely huge so it wasn't weird for a scared villager to run in screaming "demon" from the top of their lungs.
But right now, things were very different. They weren't simple humans anymore, they were spirits in charge of fighting these supernatural beings, which was pretty intimidating at first glance. Ryuusei had never met a demon in person not participated in the demon hunts that took place in his day and he highly doubted the others were more prepared than him.
(dlsjaonsdofn I have to go for another day, sorry again! I should be able to get on around 8:00 EST or so though today. Hockey evaluation skate and a ringette thing, wish me luck!)
(it's ok, don't worry, we understand)
Kaito jumped at the words; he was not prepared for the word ‘demon’.
”What? What happened?” the fourth judge asked as the spirit pointed to the distant shore where a large figure, approximately four humans tall, was walking around, scaring off the humanoid figures below it and kneeling down to grab some of them. The figure was shadowy so its features were not clear and the mist was falling down more as time went on through the day.
The fourth judge nodded before she turned to the group.
”Looks like you’ll be doing your first mission here” the judge stated, concentrating on her Oni mask. A flagpole with a blue banner with the designs of waves and fishes appeared in her hand as she put on the Oni mask.
