Kane stood ready at the warehouse entrance, his captain getting ready to bust the door. Every sense in kane's body was on end but that was a good thing. As the loud bang of the door bust filled his ears Kane and his team charged the warehouse. Now at least three clears had sounded off, and he was going to shout his, " clea-" and then it happened. A man jumped from round the corner, first sticking kane's throat and crushing his vocals. The man then decided to aim for the head, watching as Kane fell. Kane could just barely understand what was going on. He heard his captain say something, call in his ambulance and then grab his phone for emergency contacts. Nok and nori…
Nori nodded, then stared out the direction of the doors. He couldn't help but worry about Kane - his instincts told him something wasn't right.
His phone started to buzz, and he quickly answered. "H-hello?"
" im sorry, theres been an accident. is this nori?" a woman asked forgiving " kane has been emitted to emergency care, the rest will be disclosed with his doctor if you show.
kanes head was filled with memorys… and then he was infront of someone or something.. he asked if he would like to stay, but for a price. " yes,"
Nori looked at Nok fearfully. "Y-yeah it is… fuck what happened?? What hospital??"
" were not sure, his captain found him unresponsive, but hes in north central, room 225."
Norkhal’rokh noticed the look, then his eyes widened. Kane.
“Which hospital? I’m calling Edmund,”he asked, grabbing his phone.
Nori kept the phone to his ear as he started to bite his black nails. “N-North Central.” He stuttered. “Something happened on the job.”
Kane could barely hear what was happening. He tried to get something out but nothing came forward. The breathing tube in his throat didn't help either.
Norkhal’rokh sighed shakily, calling Edmund. He told the man where they were, and that they needed to head to North Central Hospital immediately after being picked up. Edmund didn’t question it and hung up.
Norkhal’rokh put up his phone and gently but firmly grabbed Nori’s arm, heading for the exit. His mind whirled, but one thought stayed consistent. Was Kane going to be alright?
Kane finally made a soft whine, the doctor looking up. " Your up. And so early too. Relax Kane, we'll get you taken care of. He then heard the rush of feet and the nurse mumbling something. The doctor came back in and removed the breathing tube, replacing it with a oxygen cord to his nose.
Nori quickly followed behind Norkhal’rokh, breath quickening as his heart pounded with every terrible thought that could have entered his mind. "Oh no oh no oh no…" He whined as they ran to the car
Norkhal’rokh gently shushed Nori once they were outside in front of the doors. He wrapped a comforting arm around Nori, impatiently waiting for Edmund.
Five minutes later, Edmund drove up and quickly opened the car door for them. He nodded at Norkhal’rokh, noting Kane’s absence and already guessing something had happened. He didn’t say a word though as they got in and he drove as quickly as he could safely manage to the hospital.
Norkhal’rokh held Nori the entire time, for both their sakes. It bothered him immensely that this was the third time they would be going to a hospital in one day. Once was inevitable, twice occasionally happened, but three times was just unbearable.
Nori took shallow breaths as the world around him blurred. He leaned into Nok as his eyes started to well up with fearful tears
Kane had been in the ICU this time, a nurse standing outside his door. " You should have someone coming in. We called your emergency contacts . We think a man named nori should be common to watch over after I leave. "
Kane was a little out of it still, his eyes staying closed as he nodded his head.
Nori hurriedly, yet shakily, made his way to the pre disclosed room, opening the door to see Kane on a bed. "Oh my god… holy fuck… oh shit…" He mumbled as he went to Kane's side.
Kane just barely heard the other. He opened his eyes, his babyblues looking up at his partner. He lifted his hand for the other
Norkhal’rokh timidly entered the room after Nori, watching the pair. He brushed a shaky hand through his hair and sat down before his knees became too wobbly.
Kane watched nok with a worried look. He tried to say he was alright but nothing came out. He hadn't seen the dark bruises blossoming along his neck. He motioned for nok to come closer.
Nori gently rubbed Kane's hand, crying a bit as he stared at the other's wounds. "Oh god Kane…"
Kane nudges his head against the others. Wiping away his tears. He mouthed the words "don't cry,"
Nori shook his head, breaths still coming in short bursts as his heart rate quickened. "I- I cant not cry! Who the hell did this to you?? Are you okay??"
Kane teared up. He traced on the others hand " I.. I don't know, for either question. I can't get anything out..can you please settle, I'm alright nori. I'm alive. " He wrote his hand shaking.
Norkhal’rokh took a deep breath before moving next to Nori. He kept a hand on the side of the bed to steady himself, and watched the interaction. His skin was pale from the shock of everything, and the strange thing was, the pale hue seemed more natural than his regular skin tone.
Kane looked up to nok. He pulled him closer and gave him a soft kiss. Doing the same thing for the other as he'd don't for nori. "I'll be alright. "
Nori whimpered nervously, still stroking Kane’s hand. He still was a bit shocked from the news, trying to process it while attempting to block out old memories that were almost exactly the same
