( Okay, that's beautiful @Abigail Dara )
(Um… that was unintentional….)
Joanna put a hand on Silver. Giving him a meaningful look. "Maybe we should just leave him be. He needs to come to terms with this on his own." She whispered.
(Well, I'm off to bed. Night Y'all.)
Daso took a breath. He thought of the songs he knew –mostly comedic–but settled on a genuine one. "insert beautiful song by @Nerd here"
"I'll leave the cookies here, you can be alone for a bit, Kameo." he said, turning to face Joanna.
Daso took a breath. He thought of the songs he knew –mostly comedic–but settled on a genuine one. "insert beautiful song by @Nerd here"
Tis called Daso+Leah=ship/make it canon
"That was amazing. . ." Leah murmured, still looking at Daso in awe. "I bet you sing that to every pretty girl you meet."
(Who volunteers to ship with Silver?)
Daso gazed down at her, entranced by her eyes. "I've never sang that song to anyone. Cross my heart."
Leah paused to think, a small grin playing on her lips. "I believe you. . . for now."
He looked away suddenly. He almost regretted singing it to her. In his heart he knew he was completely devoted to her, but he also knew that she deserved much better. "Thank you," he said with a chagrined smile.
Leah looked at Daso, feeling like she had done something wrong. Something felt off ever since they had left Sole. "I'll try to dance tonight, if I don't trip and break my neck first."
"Save the first dance for me, of course," he requested, still smiling, still not looking at her.
Leah nodded slowly, dropping her gaze and looking at her hands. She frowned slightly, thinking of something to say, but nothing came out.
"I hope Kameo's up for a party. To lift his spirits and all." Daso sighed.
"Maybe some gambling can get it off his mind. . . I heard that there's a crew member that's gotten close to beating him in poker." Leah replied, wrinkling her nose in discomfort as she tried to move in her bandaids. The doctor had decided to make them a little tighter this time.
Daso nodded. "And if all else fails, we can get him really, really drunk."
"I think Joanna has some strong stuff in one of her cupboards," Leah chuckled, looking over at Daso. "Is something wrong. . .?" She finally asked.
He thought about lying to her. But he hated that. His smiling facade fell away. "I'm not great. But I'm okay." He stared down at his hands, clasped together to keep himself from being emotional.
"What happened in Sole?" Leah asked, noticing his smile fade away.
"I um," he began unsteadily, "saw my sister. I have I twin too. Weird, right?" He composed himself some. "I left her when we were kids. Our parents weren't the…they…" he paused.
Leah looked towards Daso, her gaze telling him it was alright.
Encouraged by her expression, he forced himself to keep going. "I won't mince words. They were abusive. Not physically. Just…every other way." A harsh laugh escaped his throat. "It took me and my sister forever to realize we were being abused. That many years of brainwashing can do that do you. Anyway, I got fed up and I asked her to come with me. But she wouldn't." His hands trembled. "So I left. And I never came back. I betrayed her, made her hate me, and she turned me in to my father."
( I've got to go, but I'll be on tomorrow.)
"I'm so sorry Daso," Leah said softly, pulling him into a hug. She had never had abusive parents, but she knew many kids who struggled with the same problems as Daso.
