“You find me attractive?” Cyrus asked, a brow arching. He didn’t think that he was that stunning, but he certainty wasn’t the worst looking guy. He considered him self to be average, no more or less.
“You find me attractive?” Cyrus asked, a brow arching. He didn’t think that he was that stunning, but he certainty wasn’t the worst looking guy. He considered him self to be average, no more or less.
“Uh…yeah?” Erikos said slowly, rubbing at the back of his neck as he looked off to the side. He could feel a faint flush rising to his cheeks, though he tried his best to ignore it
“Oh, thank you,” Cyrus said in a timid manner, fingers picking at the material of his flannel. “I mean, I think you’re attractive to, if that matters at all.”
Erikos turned to look at him, eyes wide and a faint flush spreading across his face. “Really? Because, I mean, no one ever tells me that unless I’m at s bar or club or something,” he rambled
“Yeah, um, you look really good,” Cyrus admitted, shifting a tad from being so uncomfortable. He never really told others his feelings, considering most were human and would get old and die much quicker than he would.
“Thanks,” Erikos drawled, finger gunning in Cyrus’ direction awkwardly. “Um…I’m sort of stoned but I promise normally I would be flirting like crazy right now.”
“That’s okay,” Cyrus said with another bit of timid laughter. He felt his stomach rumble, and heard what could have been the clicking of claws. “I should probably get going..”
“Yeah, um. Do you need a ride or something?” Erikos thought to offer, even though he knew that was probably the worst idea he had come up with
“Hm? No, I should stay in the woods, probably..” Cyrus said, rubbing at the back of his neck. It would be better is he did. If he stayed in the woods, there would be less people around for the wendigo to kill.
Erikos tilted his head in confusion before his eyes went wide with realization. "Oh, that…I can help with that, if you want. There's a little spot right off the local wendigo hunting grounds that's pretty good for stuff like that."
“No, no, it’s fine. I’d rather not give it any help at all, and you shouldn’t be around when I shift,” Cyrus said as he stood up, stretching his arms out as hunger clawed at his stomach.
"Are you sure?" Erikos asked, frowning with worry. "I can tail you in the river or something, just to make sure you don't accidentally hurt yourself or something."
“That’s not what I’m concerned about. I’ll be fine, but if you are anywhere near it, you might get hurt,” Cyrus said, jaw clenching afterwards as the endigo became impatient.
"Can wendigos swim?" Erikos asked, now intent on making sure Cyrus didn't get hurt. The least he could do was make sure the local wendigos didn't mess with him while he was hunting
“I have no clue, I tend to black out while shifted. But I have come to and been soaking wet, so maybe? But I really don’t think that it’s still a good idea,” Cyrus said while rubbing at the name of his neck.
"Okay, okay. Just…if you have any control at all over the wendigo, don't go near the far end of the lake," Erikos stressed. "That's the edge of the locals' territory, and if Nami sees you over there she'll rip you to shreds."
“Got it, I’m sure that it’ll stay away from other’s. From what I know about it, it’s not as friendly as others might be,” Cyrus huffed, hands slipping into the pockets of his flannel. “I should get going now.”
Erikos nodded. "Well, um. I'll be here. I guess," he said before reaching for a stray bag of chips he had on the coffee table and stuffing a handful in his mouth
“Yeah,” Cyrus said before adding. “I’ll call you later.” With that, he stepped away and let himself out, jogging away from the house. He would get as far from it as he was able to before shifting.
Erikos smiled dorkily. Cyrus would call him. That'd be nice. He finished his bag of chips before setting them off to the side, making sure that his phone was within reach before laying down on the couch
After quickly getting a few miles away from Erikos’ home, Cyrus breathed heavily as his body ached. Within minutes, he was shifting, his bones cracking and moving under his skin, his hair wilting until it was nonexistant, claws and fangs growing, and many other transformations. He had blacked out, and the tall, unhealthy skinny creature was left standing there with a ravenous look in its glazed over eyes.
Erikos had quickly fallen asleep, a pillow held to his chest. He had let his true form show since it made him uncomfortable hiding it for too long, and his long sharklike tail was flicking absently as he snored
The creature ran through the woods, traveling mostly on all fours like a wild animal. It gave a shrill screech as it watched for any movement, occasionally sniffing around. It seemed to pick up another scent that it didn’t like- another wendigo- and it gave a noise between an angry snarl and a hiss.
Erikos jumped as his phone rang. He reached for it, expecting Cyrus when he picked up. “Hello?”
“Erikos, it’s Nami,” came a thickly accented woman’s voice. “Why is there a Wendigo by your river?”
“Oh, that’s just Cyrus. Met ‘im at a cafe,” Erikos responded tiredly.
“I don’t care who he is, he’s currently traveling towards our territory. Fix it,” Nami bit out before hanging up
The creature knew that others were nearby somewhere, but it was the type to not care about getting into a fight. It already had plenty of scars on its thick skin. It picked up the scent of an animal, and tracked it down to a small clearing. It was a decent sized bear, that stood and snarled at the wendigo. The wendigo screeched, bearing its fangs as it kept to grab onto a tree trunk before leaping at the bear, clawing and ripping into it with surprising ease.
