@Mr.Misfit
Dylan went to pick her up, hefting her in his arms. It would be a little slow going, but faster than waiting.
Together with the fox, they proceded out of the room and turned right down the hall, away from the stairs.

"Not that I don't enjoy being carried – don't get me wrong, I totally do – but I was thinking more that you could help me walk," Avery stated, giving Dylan a small smile. "I'm going to have to do it sometime, and sooner is always better than later, right?"
Oh, is that so? Then why are you putting off telling him who Bryce is and what he did to you?
Now is not the time for that. We have more pressing matters at hand.
Of course. But as soon as you have some downtime, you could totally tell him, you know.
I'll think about it, okay?
Mm-hm. You do that.
He didn't look down at Avery, but he did crack a smile that almost turned into a laugh. He worked hard to supress it.
"Not quite true," He said, "Tell me, would you rather die 10 mins from now or 10 years from now?"
(Honestly, I hate Notebook sometimes…)
Avery laughed softly, wincing when it hurt her side.
"Yeah, I suppose you're right," she admitted, her voice quiet from the pain.
(Why?)
(I can be so slow.
EDIT: It not I. Gosh… facepalms)
Kaon opened his mouth to respond, but the electrical signatures of Dylan and Avery trying to avoid the stairs caught his attention. "Little worms," he hissed, and with a flick of his wrist all the doors in the house closed and locked. "No one leaves without my say so," he spat
"Damnit!" Dylan yelled, nearly breaking his nose on the door in front of him. He looked down at Avery and sighed, "Umm… We might have to fight our way out."
Avery groaned.
"All right, I suppose I could try. I can't fully shift right now, but I can still do this…" She lifted a hand, and silver cat-like claws replaced her fingernails.
“Kaon, just let them go. I’ll stay, we can work something out,” Vaughn insisted, an anxious feeling in his mind as he mentally pleaded for Kaz to come back again.
"No! I'm in control for once, do you know how long I've waited for this? This is the longest I've been out since Kaz was 12," Kaon hissed, hands curling into fists as he spoke. Though something seemed to be wrong. A drop of something inky and black began to slide slowly from the corner of one of Kaon's eyes, though he didn't seem to notice
Vaughn’s eyes flicked to the liquid that came from Kaon’s eyes. He decided to keep talking, and he raised his hands slowly in surrender. “Okay, okay. Just sit down and we can talk, Kaon, alright?” He asked, tone cautious.
"No! I'm not as stupid as that idiot! You're going to try and talk me down, power of love like some god damn kid's show. No, I run this now!" Kaon shouted, more of the inky substance beginning to drip from his eyes and a small bit from his nose
Vaughn’s eyes widened in the slightest bit as he noticed even more fo the liquid drip. What could that be? And why didn’t Kaon notice? “Just listen to me for one second, Kaon,” he pressed, even going as far as to grab onto the others forearm.
"You little-" There was a jolt of violet electricity, arcing across Kaon's arm before suddenly sputtering to a stop. He made a small noise of pain, grimacing as he stared at Vaughn. "God damn it, Kaz!" he hissed as he looked off to the side, not appearing to be speaking to anyone in particular
Dylan brought Avery to the top of the stairs. "Ok. I can make you pounce, you do the scratching. Got it?"
“Kaz? Come on, Kaz, you can do this. Come on, baby,” Vaughn insisted quickly, his grip tightening on Kaon’s arm. He gave Kaon a dangerous look before suddenly taking him to the ground, tumbling to the hard floor with a sharp grunt of pain from his stomach. He pinned Kaon’s arms and legs, thinking that restraining him could help Kaz.
"Motherfucker!" Kaon screeched, more of the dark substance leaking slowly from his eyes and nose. "Let go of me!" Small arcs of violet electricity jumped across his body, but he couldn't seem to muster enough energy to deliver a proper shock. He struggled for a long moment before suddenly going rigid, coughing the same black liquid violently as he shuddered
"What? What're you going to do? Throw me?" Avery questioned Dylan, her eyes wide.
Vaughn grimaced at Kaon’s screams, and partly from being wary of the little sparks. He didn’t move, though, looking down at whoever it was at the moment with wide eyes.

(cough Language, please. cough)
(Dylan can't see them from the top, so this is going to be interesting…)
"No. Did you ever go down a slide head first as a kid?" He set her down at the top.
Avery's eyebrows shot up as she realized what Dylan was going to do.
"I'm not sure that's a very good idea…" she declared.
(oh, sorry. Kaon is a very angry person)
The coughing finally stopped, and Kaon went still. The blackness began to fade from his eyes, and the antler dissolved slowly into dust. He laid there, motionless for a long moment before Kaz began coughing. He looked up at Vaughn, cracking a small smile. "Well. Guess we learned our lesson about touching space rocks."
(Lol. As long as it's not a continual thing, it's okay. Just… keep it limited to when it's most relevant. Like if someone dies.)
