“Oh hey it’s a rock.” Lucille said excitedly, she picked the rock and rubbed its surface with her sleeve.
“Oh hey it’s a rock.” Lucille said excitedly, she picked the rock and rubbed its surface with her sleeve.
She looked over to Lucille, a small smile playing on her lips. "A rock? I guess that's cool."
“A smooth rock.” Lucille beamed, she held it tightly in her hand.
She looked down towards her feet and saw rocks littering the ground. She kneeled down and picked a greenish gray one.
“It’s a nice color.” She giggled to herself.
She opened her other palm, and in that one a perfect imitation of the rock appeared. The illusion flickered, but soon solidified. Riann closed her hand around the illusion and it dissipated into a burst of mist.
“… and we have an illusionist. Any other magical things?” Lucille asked.
It was at that moment, that a peregrine falcon made it's way out the door, up into the sky. It was Spyke, attempting to scout out their surroundings, he swooped back in, nestled into his clothes, and became human again.
She laughed. "Well, we have a shape-shifter. How about you?"
(were you talking to me?)
Katie shrugged. "No idea." She walked out of the warehouse and into the sun. Gravel crunched beneath her feet. "So, are we sticking together now or what? Cause I still don't know anyone's names."
"I'm Spyke." He said, as he walked over.
"Riann." She walked after Katie and stopped, looking around. The setting sun's light cut through her amber eyes. "And, staying together sounds like a good idea."
“We should stick together… I mean, we don’t know anyone else.” Lucille said.
Riann nodded and slung her backpack over her shoulder. She began to walk towards the streets.
"Agreed. Now, what's on the agenda?" Spyke said, looking back at them.
“Wait for meeee.” Lucille whined as she slung on her backpack and followed Riann.
"Well, we know what supplies we have. So that's a good start." Riann began. "We should probably figure out what's going on. . ."
She looked around at the city, the sun slowly fading behind the mountains towards the left of the group.
(( should something attack us during the night
“It’s getting dark… maybe we should stay at the warehouse… I mean it’s probably safer there than here…” Lucille suggested.
(Maybe….)
"Alright." Spyke walked alongside them, scouring the streets for anything out of the ordinary.
"Do we know where we are precisely, first of all?" Katie asked, scanning the area.
"There's a hotel up there." He said, pointing.
She nodded and continued to look around. One sign caught her eye. It was a commercial, but at the bottom it read 'Los Angeles.' Riann finally turned around to face everyone.
"The hotel sounds nice." She replied as she looked through her backpack. She pulled a wad of cash out and a debit card. "Looks like whoever put us here decided to give us some cash."
“Shall we go then?” Lucille asked.
