Jay swallowed, looking up at him. He took his backpack off, setting it on the floor and fidgeting with the hem of his hoodie.
Jay swallowed, looking up at him. He took his backpack off, setting it on the floor and fidgeting with the hem of his hoodie.
Finn put down his back as well taking out his first aid kit and medical textbook. "I'm guessing there are more injuries that I cant see," he says looking at his small supplies of things. He'll need to get more. maybe visit the nurse.
Jay nodded slightly. He pulled off the hoodie and the t shirt beneath, avoiding Finn's eyes. His thin torso was covered in bruises.
Finn bit his lip to stop his eyes from wondering. He kneeled beside him. "I'm going to check your ribs let me know if the pain is too much."
"Okay." Jay replied softly, swallowing. The bruises were dark. There were also marks on his neck, like he had been grabbed in a chokehold.
He gentle added pressure to his rib cage looking up at to see Jay's reaction.
Jay flinched, a soft cry escaping his mouth as he flinched away from Finn's hands.
He cursed under his breath. he grabbed some cream and ibuprofen out of his bag. He handled the pain meds to Jay. "Take 2 of these."
Jay nodded, and took the ibuprofen silently. His blue eyes flicked up to look at Finn quietly.
Finn went back to kneeling beside him. opening the cream. "This might hurt a little bit but it'll help the bruises go down," He explained trying to gently apply the cream to Jay's torso.
Jay flinched a little at the touch, biting his lip anxiously. Why… "Why are you helping me?" He finally asked quietly, avoiding looking at Finn.
"Because your hurt and I'm not heartless," Finn said focussing on gently applying the cream onto his bruises. Plus this is all technically my fault
"Oh." See? He doesn't really care about you personally. He would have done this for anyone. Stop getting your hopes up. He looked down at his feet.
Finn could hear his disappointment but he didn't know what to say. He finished the bruises on his torso and stood up. Gently apply the cream to his neck. He hesitated for a long time. "If um If you don't want to go home tonight you can stay with me…my aunt's out of town and we have a spare room," Finn suggests even though he could guess how Jay will react.
Jay took in a breath, chewing on his lip a little. "I…" he looked at Finn, then away again. "Can I think about it for a bit and give my answer later?" he asked quietly.
Finn was slightly shocked that he didn't have to do any more convincing but he smiled softly. "Of course. Why don't we meet at the library again after school and you can let me know?" He suggested standing up. He put more cream on his hand and applied it to his face. He had taken the glove off a while ago and his hand was glowing brightly along with Jay's cheek.
(gtg to bed now. Good night!)
Jay nodded a little. "Okay." He hesitated. "Also…I'm sorry I didn't text you or anything…" He pulled his phone from his pocket and held it up. The screen had shattered into a bunch of little pieces. "My dad…threw it across the room. So." He looked away.
"It's ok I was worried but I understand it's not your fault," He reassured still gently touching his face. "This is all I can really do now. If you do come over my house I can help heal the broken ribs and maybe your eye."
Jay nodded a little. "Okay." He was leaning into Finn's hand a little without even realizing it. The poor boy was so attention starved and desperate for someone to love him, that he didn't even seem to register what he was doing.
Finn let his land linger before slowly pulling away and putting away his things. The bell for the next class had rung a while ago. “I have to go to class but hopefully I’ll see you after school?” He asked still smiling softly.
(Also goodnight meant to say that before)
Jay put his shirt and hoodie back on, wincing a little with the movement. He nodded. "Yeah." He said quietly.
Finn turned away. And waved goodbye walking out of the bathroom.
Jay waved back. He pulled his backpack on, then headed out as well. He was going to go hide in the library and sleep for a while. It was a while to the end of school, but he was so tired, and didn't know if he could make it through another class right now.
(Time skip)
Finn went to his classes but wasn’t really paying attention.
