"Asura…?" Red looked around curiously, wondering why they hadn't attacked the beast yet.
"Asura…?" Red looked around curiously, wondering why they hadn't attacked the beast yet.
"Not patronizing. Just reminding." Mike gently and firmly wrapped her wing into place, then glanced around at the shadowy trees. "I don't see Red or Asura nearby. Any idea what happened to them?"
He lifted his head, looking over at her. "Oh. Hey. You alright?"
(my responses will slow down but I'm still here)
"Red was hurt. Told Asura to move her to safety." She tried getting up but fumbled, landing on her wing. She almost burst into tears, but was determined not to
"What…? Why didn't we attack yet??" Red asked, trying to get up but began whimpering in pain, her back was bleeding in two verticle lines down the sides of her back where her wings had retracted.
Mike helped her sit up straight. "Don't worry about getting up. "I'll just radio them." He flicked on the headset. "Red, Asura, are you there?"
"Goddamit, I'm fine!" Pluto yelled, a little louder than intended
"We did, we did. We just need to wait for Mike and Pluto to get back." He heard his radio and leaned over to pick it up.
Pluto grabbed onto the log next to her, hissing loudly as she got to her feet
"Easy," Mike said. "I know you're fine. But there's no point in exerting ourselves right now." He paused then added, "You did good back there, by the way."
"I flapped around like a butterfly on cocaine. I did wonderfully," Pluto said, shoving past him and muttering a string of curses in Russian out of pain and indignation
"You distracted the demon while the others got away. You put more tranqs in him so he'd pass out faster. I just sat in the bushes looking confused. You acted like a real hunter out there." Mike spoke into his radio again. "Asura, Red, we're west of the waterfall by about a hundred yards. Can both of you get there?"
Pluto resolved to stay silent, hissing out another few curses as a few of her bladed feathers scraped against her injury
(brb, having supper real fast)
(k)
(Okay, back now)
(Red and Jensen are currently in play practice, so they'll be on and off. I'm here though)
(aright)
"Let's not forget to keep and eye out for the female, by the way. I'm surprised she hasn't shown up yet after the noise we made."
"Awesome. Let's find her, tranq her, and leave," Pluto said, growing more and more irritated with the pain of her wing
"Nothing would make me happier. But we still have to be careful. I remember she's a lot sneakier and smarter than her boyfriend, and yes, she is venomous. Not that a bite from her wouldn't rip your arm off either way." He paused to listen, frowning. "It's not like a demoness to be away from their partner for this long….I wonder what's up."
There was only static on the radio. Frustrated. Asura hit it against a tree, and it completely went out. "Shit!" he yelled.
"Gotta find the others first." Pluto took a few steps where she could see the blurred outline of Asura's soul in the distance. She suddenly felt lightheaded and stumbled, almost faceplanting directly into the water
(aha, an idea occurs to me. if you're only here for a second, then oops)
Asura suddenly heard a sound behind him. A long, low hiss.
He froze, not sure whether to turn, run, or just stay still. His aura lit up like an overpowered Christmas tree.
