They walked to the mess hall and went in. Most of the hunters had left by now, but the food was still warm and there was plenty for all of them.

Pluto slid into a chair, debating what to eat. She felt like people were staring at her, and she hated it even though she knew probably no one was paying attention to them

Blake politely declined a plate of food, explaining that he didn't need to eat. "If you don't want me to personally accompany you on your mission, I can arrange for communication to be set up."
Mike took a bite of mashed potatoes, frowning at the rafters thoughtfully. "Actually, I think we should break your curse first. You'll be more helpful at full power, especially if we have other angry gods and guardians to worry about."
"Oh." Blake blinked. "Well, thank-you. That could work too, and I'd be very grateful."

"Yeah, yeah. You're more useful at full power and you might be able to get Samandriel to leave me alone for a while if we free you," Pluto said between mouthfuls of waffles

"Yes, I would greatly enjoy that." Blake beamed. "In that case, all that remains is to–oh dear."
Blake's form began to shudder, like a corrupted video. He sighed in frustration. "It appears I've been caught," he said, his voice fading. "I have to go, sorry. Find Kaiser Hungarius, he'll take you where you need to…" he vanished, leaving behind an empty, suddenly dusty teacup.

Pluto squinted at the cup. "Kaiser Hungarius. That's either an alias or someone with the strangest name I've ever heard."

Mike sighed. "I was hoping you'd know him. I'm not familiar with the name. But he must be findable, if he's anywhere on this planet. I'll have Vincent do some sleuthing, he's good at that."

"Yeah, that's great and all, but how do we know Blake gave us the right info? He could be leading us into a trap." Pluto downed some more coffee, frowning. "Reminds me a little too much of Ostaros if you ask me."

"Should I know about Ostaros?"

"He's been on the down-low after him and the other paeans got the boot. Samandriel killed all but Ostaros and Key. Rumor has it they're building an army, and I'm pretty sure the rumors are right. The best thing you can do is make people stop believing in you, that's when you have the most power. And Ostaros has been doing just that for the last two pulses."

"Huh. Well, I think you're right that we should treat this with caution. "I have never found a good reason to trust somebody more powerful than me, even if they claim to be on my side. But so far Blake hasn't given us any reason not to trust him. So let's not worry about it yet." He set aside his plate and leaned back to call into the kitchens. "Hey Vincent?"
"Sup?"
"I need you to research a guy named Kaiser Hungarius, pronto."
Vincent poked his head into he main room. "Kaiser? He's my therapist. Or was. I still have his number, if you want it."

"A therapist? What, did Blake need to talk about his feelings sometime?" Pluto remarked. She knew she was probably being too hard on Blake, but she had had enough bad experiences with beings of higher power to be skeptical of well…all of them

Mike furrowed his brow. "We'll take that number, Vince."
Vincent scrawled it down in a small notebook and tore out the page for them. "He's really good. Unconventional. Not the kindly type, but smart as a whip."
"Is he human?"
"Heck no. Not sure what he is, exactly, but I'll bet he'd tell you if you asked. He's not very secretive."

"Well at least he's easy to find."
