"Are you…sure?" Luno asked a bit sheepishly. He wanted to make sure that Baz really meant that he would be okay with him staying there, even though it was small
"I'm more than sure," Baz answered, flashing Luno a small smile in an attempt to reassure them further. He didn't want Luno feeling like a burden, and they weren't going to be one anyway. He was honestly fine sharing an apartment with someone…it would give him someone to talk to instead of smoking.
"Okay," Luno said, a bit quiet as he spoke. He made a mental decision to try and make himself as invisible as possible when he was staying with Baz to keep from burdening him too much. He was even half tempted to keep his personal belongings in his car
"I'll meet you there, yeah?" Baz answered, barely able to hear what Luno said since the other's tone had dropped considerably. He wasn't bothering them, was he? Instead, he shook the thought from his head and focused on not standing on his right leg too much since he had hurt it before his death.
Luno nodded, simply keeping quiet now. He got into his car, frowning as it took a few tries to start. It eventually rumbled to life, and he glanced over at the apartments again to make sure he knew where he was going
Baz began down the street, a slight limp decently noticeable in his gate as he made his way towards the apartments. They weren't that far and his leg didn't hurt too much from the walk, so it was almost a perfect location. After about ten minutes of walking, he finally made his way towards the apartment building and waited outside for Luno.
Luno pulled into the apartment's parking lot, having waited a few minutes for Baz to get there first. He parked the car before getting out, locking it as he walked over to Baz
"Do you want to get your things? I don't want anyone taking them," Baz spoke up, playing with the keys in his hands as he watched Luno walk over towards him.
"It's alright, I barely have anything anyways. No one would want to steal a few cardboard boxes of knickknacks," Luno assured him with a small smile. His main concern was that if he moved his things in, he might end up getting attached again. Attachment never worked well for him anymore
Baz nodded, unlocking the apartment building's door as he held it open for Luno. Inside, the floor was carpeted with an odd maroon color that already began to fade, and there were water stains all over the walls and roof. Baz didn't pay much attention to it anyway, though his least favorite part was the flight of stairs he had to climb to get up to his floor. It always hurt his leg, especially since he didn't have enough of money to get enough of medicine for it.
Luno looked around, a pang of anxiety going through him. It reminded him a lot of one of his previous apartments, where he had stayed with a man for nearly two years before being kicked out. He ignored his unease, instead beginning to walk towards the stairs
"It's only a couple floors up," Baz reassured Luno, unsure of what was causing the uneasy expression on the other's face. Instead, he began to make his way up the old staircase, slowing down every once in a while when his leg began to hurt.
Luno nodded, staying a step or two behind Baz respectfully. As far as he was concerned now, Baz was like his landlord. His nice, attractive…landlord. Yeah, thinking of him like that would keep him from getting kicked out, wouldn't it?
After a few minutes of walking, Baz finally made his way towards one of the last few levels, beginning to walk down the hall. He paused at one of the older, chipped doors, fishing out his keys once again before he began to unlock the door. He stepped in, holding the door open for Luno for them to walk in as well. "It's kind of bland…but I don't have many belongings to hang things up," Baz said sheepishly as he glanced towards the room.
"No, it's alright. It's…sort of nice, actually," Luno assured him with a small smile. It was a welcome change, considering he had really only lived in trashy apartments full of booze and the lingering traces of drugs
