Teddy turned on some music in the kitchen, making sure the boys could still hear what they were doing. Quinn was watching some cartoons, and Virgil was listening to an audiobook of Harry Potter.

Fury waited for her in the surveillance room, arms crossed over his chest.
"How'd he do?" he asked, gesturing for her to sit down in one of the empty chairs.
(okay got it thanks)
Ahren pulled out his phone, and located a certain file. "Teddy." He muttered. He punched in a phone number. it might not even be connected anymore, but it was worth a shot.
Jay shrugged. "As a symbiote? Decent. He'll need to work on technique and such, but he has the right stuff. On his own…average, in terms of what he can lift." she replied, sitting down.
"Alright," he said down across from her, leaning his head to the side slightly. "You told him what you are, correct?"
Jay nodded slowly. "Ah…yes." she replied slowly. "Is that an issue?" she remained still, not moving. "He knew I was hiding something, and I thought it would be best to just tell him."
Teddy felt his phone vibrate and he walked out of the room to pick it up, it was his work phone, so it was probably a vendor. "Hello, Card Master speaking." He hummed into the phone, voice slightly accented.
(The file would be under Card Master, not Teddy.)
(oops. Just…pretend he muttered Master Card, then)
"Hi. This is Ahren Schmidt, and I have a job proposal." Ahren said carefully. He didn't have any fear in giving his real name. Which could be a good thing, might not be. He didn't care. "That is, if you're willing to hear it?"
"Not at all," he said, tapping his chin. "And he asked you on a date just before I called you here?"
He rarely asked questions he didn't know the answer to.
She blinked. "It…wasn't a date." she replied slowly. Right? It couldn't have been. Couldn't have. She cleared her throat softly. "It was just dinner. Not a date."

Teddy made his way to his office, sitting down in his chair and kicking up his feet onto the desk. "Well, it depends on the offer." The eyebrow raise was obvious in his voice, not unkind, but just questioning.
Fury let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. "It's a date. Anyways, you are allowed to go. That boy's getting connected to you already. Use that to make sure he stays a long-term asset."
He wasn't scared of using emotional manipulation to complete his goals. This wasn't the first time, nor was it the last.
"Right. I have a way in. To SHIELD. Problem is…I don't exactly trust the people I typically work with. Now, that isn't to say that I trust you. I don't. By a long shot. However…we may be able to find a common goal." Ahren replied.
(help me lol. Ideas for what he could say?)
She blinked, the only expression of surprise she would allow. "But…" she trailed off, looking away. This is how SHIELD operates, remember? She took a deep breath, returning her attention to Fury. "Right. Okay."
"Is there an issue?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "If there is, please speak up on it."

A smile formed on Teddy's face. "Well, lucky for you, I've been trying to do that on the side." His fingers tapped on the chair's armrest. "So, I'd say we meet up somewhere. Listening ears and all."
Jay shook her head. "No. I'll…go find him again, then." She said. At least I'm not being asked to purposely manipulate him…I don't want to do that.
Ahren smiled a little. "Sounds good. Where?" He asked. "There are a few restaurants I know of. I am not meeting you in your home or any such thing, and I doubt you would meet me at mine."
"You go do that," Fury said, turning back to the security cameras and studying what the rest of the base is doing.
Klaus was still in his room, looking incredibly bored as the intern rambled on about something he didn't care about.
She swallowed, and slipped out of the room quietly, heading to go find Klaus again. Fuck. Is it really a date? Should i dress up? No, not a date. He didn't say it was. No dressing up, it'll look stupid.
"No way in hell." He stated, looking up something on his computer. "There's a nice cafe downtown that serves really good pastries."
Klaus smiled as she walked into his room, blatantly ignoring the intern at this point.
"Hey. What did he want you for?" he asked.
Ahren nodded. "Alright. Send me the address. I'll meet you there…does today work for you?" He asked. He didn't have anything on his schedule today, so he could meet whenever.
(Bump?)
(oh oops! Sorry!)
Jay blinked. "Oh…nothing important." She replied with a slight shrug. "So…you wanted to get dinner?" She put her hands on her hips, looking at him with raised eyebrows.
He tried to mask it the best he could, but the excitement was evident on his face. "Did Fury say yes?"
She nodded. "Yeah. Just uhm…let me put a different shirt on. This one is…ripped." she laughed softly.
