"You don't sound wonderful," Lillian sighed, "Why don't you take a nap or something when we get back?"

Guilty as hell. "Fine."

He smiled, “You gonna take a nap with me?” His face was turning pale at this point but he’d thought he was masking it.
Guilty as hell. "Fine."
“How’s the throat?”
Lillian shrugged as she quickly glanced at his paling face, "If you want me too."
"Still hurts but doing a little better." Her voice was clipped, pinning back the emotions she truly felt so he wouldn't have to deal with them.

“What everyouwant,” He slurred tiredly.

“That’s good, do you want me to put Donatella in her crib?”
"If you don't mind." She smiled lightly, although if you looked close enough you could see that it was fake.
Lillian nodded as she pulled up to the house, "Come on let's go Um, should we just let Cooper sleep in the car?"

He kissed her forehead and took the baby, placing her in the other room and returning quickly to cuddle next to Belle.
Lillian nodded as she pulled up to the house, "Come on let's go Um, should we just let Cooper sleep in the car?"
“No I got him,” Darren out on a brave face and got out to grab his brother.
"Okay…" Lillian got out and kept an eye on Darren. Something moved in the corner of her eye, she didn't bother to look thinking it was paranoia. These invasive thoughts just wouldn't leave her alone.
He took a deep breath, unsure if he could do this but did it anyway. Taking Cooper from the car and stumbling to the house.
Lillian smiled and moved to follow them. Instead someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her into them. A hand covered her mouth and a muffled scream could be heard. A low familiar voice whispered softly into her ear and Lillian's whole body froze, "Come with me, and this'll be much less painful for both you and me."
Dad… Fuck. Fuck! It wasn't paranoia. Fuck!
Darren hadn’t heard a thing but the feeling of her no longer being behind him got his attention. He laid Coop on the couch and ran back out. “HEY STOP!” He homered weakly.
Her father gave Darren a smile, but his grip on his daughter never released. Though his hand did move from her mouth to her shoulder, "Oh hey there! I just wanted to take her out for a bit if that's fine with you."
Lillian tried to move, but her muscles had been locked in place with fear. Flight or fight, and she seemed to be stuck in the 'or' phase.
“We have plans,” he said quickly, “Maybe later?”
Her father thought for a moment, “Sounds just fine, I’ll pick her up later to take her.”
Her father said with such certainty, and he wasn’t letting go. Lillian wanted to scream, do something. Anything.
“Okay… I’ll see you later then. She’ll be ready”
Lillian’s father nodded. He let go of his daughter and patted her shoulder, like a goodbye. He walked over to that damn car Lillian had been seeing all day and drove off. Lillian fell down on her knees sobbing. She was supposed to have gotten over this. Why didn’t her body listen?! Doubt, guilt, anger, and above all the feeling of being terrified flooded through her core. She couldn’t stand up, she couldn’t do anything!
"If you don't mind." She smiled lightly, although if you looked close enough you could see that it was fake.
He kissed her forehead and took the baby, placing her in the other room and returning quickly to cuddle next to Belle.
She so desperately wanted to just cuddle him and forget about everything but her body wouldn't let her. Her heart just wasn't in it. She felt disconnected, like she was watching everything from an outsider's perspective.

He pulled her close and closed his eyes. He told himself everything would be fine because that’s all he had left.
She stayed still, thinking. Had she…fallen out of love? Was that a thing? Could that even happen? She shook her head. No. Impossible. She loved him more than words could say and that was that.
Maybe it was just the stress of being married? Maybe cold feet had gotten the better of both of them.
