(I mean, I'm not particularly worried about it. I know people who have had it and they're like 'honestly felt like a gross cold and I didn't die')

"I, uh, no not really," Lillian admitted her face flushing a little. She was a little embarrassed to admit that, but it was true.
(Eh, I'm not super worried about getting it considering I live with most of the symptoms already lol. I just want it to go away so I can be less worried about leaving my room.)
"I loved someone once," Bal admitted. This was a rare moment given that he never opened up to anyone.
"You did?" Lillian turned her full attention to Bal. She assumed he didn't talk about this much.
(Last time I checked, Wisconsin is the worst state for it rn. I'm not worried about it at all but others are so no matter what I believe I'm gonna put a mask on and deal with it. I mean, if someone told me that every time I went into a store I had to like… idk… hold a cookie? because it was they only way they would feel comfortable, I would do it even if I felt silly just to ensure that person felt safe)
"Yes." he admitted, "She was a human who found me when I was lost and injured. She gave me shelter and sustenance. She was the only human who had ever looked at me and not feared me,"
(Oh yeah. Your a wisconsin man. Your state reaaaaaally sucks right now.)
"Oh," Lillian replied. It was the only thing she could really think of saying in response to his statements.
"My family has a history of falling in love with humans," He turned onto his back again so she couldn't see his expression. He wasn't one for being vulnerable. "My mother was human, that's why Darren and Cooper are able to exist. Because we are half human, half demon."
(Yeah… Well I guess most people here are more concerned with goin to the bars then staying home and stuff?)
"I knew that already," Lillian commented on that last part. She was being very careful about what she said or did, but at the very least she put her hand lightly on his back.
(Yeah. I've seen that a wee bit.)
"I loved her for many years, I planned to spend the rest of my existence loving her. But the people in the town she lived in found out she was harboring a monster and retaliated. They started the house on fire in hopes of drawing me out. When I escaped the fire, they were holding her at gunpoint. They called her a freak for loving something like me…" Balthazar's entire body became tense. "I ran to her to save her, I took her hand and ran but then I heard a gunshot and I felt her go limp. They were aiming for me,"
(Honestly, people here are just… eh.)
"That's horrible," Lillian told him quietly. She didn't know how to console him at the moment, so instead she began just gently rub circle's into his back.
(Yeah, and then there's your supreme court.)
"You can understand my distaste for humans," he could feel tears running down his cheeks, but his voice was unchanged. He turned back around to face her and took off his necklace. It was made of a thick metal chain and attached to it was a clear bottle with dust in it. "Ashes," he said quietly.
(Don't mention that… lol that's a whole ass messss)
(WAIT WANNA HEAR A FUN FACT ABOUT OUR GOVERNOR??)
(There was no reason for that to be in all caps I am very sorry)
(Lol sure give me a fun fact about your governor)
(Also I will bring your mess of a supreme court if I want to :P)

Lillian didn't need any other context for the word and simply stayed right where she was. She gave a little nod and tried to figure out some other nonverbal way of comforting the giant-ass demon in front of her, "I can completely understand."
(Lowkey, that's great.)
