Darren snickered. "What the hell are you laughing at?" Cooper scolded.
"You're so worked up about this, you've really lost touch," Darren couldn't hold back his smile.
"Whatever," Cooper frowned, "She's got mad squirt vibes though,"

Lillian looked over at Darren and saw him smiling, "Hmmm, whatever you say Cooper."

Cooper walked upstairs to put his stuff away. "He really is a child, isn't he?" Darren grinned and pulled Lillian a little closer, he had missed her.

"Yeah," Lillian agreed letting her face fall into a smile. She moved closer to him.

"I was gone for a long time, and for the majority of it, I wasn't human." Darrens face eased into a stoic expression. "So… something happened as a result…"

Lillian's smile immediately went away as a look of concern fell onto her face, "What? What happened?"

"It's not a bad thing… the cancer went away." he paused, "I assume that's what happened anyway. I don't get headaches anymore and I don't feel anything. I'm going to set up an appointment as soon as I can," His thumb still twitched against his hand. The hand tremor was possibly a permanent side effect of his trauma.

"Wait, really?" Lilian's concern wiped away. She spotted his shaking hand and took it with her own, "That's, amazing!"

"We can find out for sure if a doctor looks at it but for now… I think it's worth celebrating." Something inside him was still a stereotypical high school quarterback. He just got home, he was feeling great, why not have a party?

"I think it's worth celebrating too," Lillian figured his head was in the same place it was back in high school, god that was a strange thought.

"We should ask Belle and Ryan if they want to come… and Cooper can come I guess… I know plenty of people we went to school with. It could be fun."

"Yeah," Lillian agreed with a nod, "It'll be fun. I think we should do it."
