James had possibly been looking forward to meeting with Rebecca for most of the day. Since he had spent most of the day yesterday outside, he had to wait until later on in the day to leave the castle. But he was keeping his promise as he entered the clearing where Rebecca was currently staying.

Rebecca currently wasn't in the spot she was yesterday she had tried to pay her brother a visit but that ended in a black eye and split lip so she left the house and made her way back to the woods

James noticed she wasn't present and began to search the surrounding woods for her. Where had she gone?

Rebecca walked through some trees back to the clearing and saw James and smiled but immediately retreated from the action feeling her lip Rip

James spotted Rebecca and made his way toward her. A frown began to cement its way onto his face as he saw he black eye and split lip, "Rebecca? Who did this to you?"

She sighed looking down at her feet " My brother" she said quietly

James couldn't stop himself as he pulled her into a half hug, "I'm so sorry. Does he know which way you went?"

She shook her head " No he never follows me" she said closing her eyes and resting her head on his chest

James felt one of his hands move to hold her head. He didn't know he was doing it until he was in the knew position, "Of course. Do you want to just stay like this for a while?"

She nodded " please?" She asked and did her best to look up at him

"Sure," James responded his face breaking out into a small smile.

She slowly but surely wrapped her arms around him

James didn't know what to make of all of this, but he wasn't going to move in fear of ruining the moment.

" Thank you for no hurting me James " she said to the vampire as she relaxed against hom

"You're welcome," James replied surprisedly. He hadn't expected that from her because of course he wouldn't hurt her.

" please don't ever hurt me I don't want you to lose me" she said

"What? I would never hurt you," James told her his voice not hiding his surprise or shock. Even though he should know better.

" everyone hurts me I don't want to be hurt anymore" she said looking up at him

"Well, I won't hurt you, intentionally," James added on to the end knowning how he tended to be, "Promise."

She nodded " Thank you for coming to see me " she said

"I'm glad too, I suppose," James replied softly.

She nodded, since she couldn't smile "I'm tired I didn't sleep well last night" she muttered

"And you're sure you want to stay out here?" James asked her softly.

" I don't have anywhere else to stay" she said
