(I think you should, @Jensenbear. You had the idea, after all.)
(Also, I've been busy, sorry for the absence.)
Mitchell suddenly grabbed ahold of Brella and Zix, dragging them into the shadows where he shouldered through another doorway. He let them go, sprinting down a corridor, hoping they would trust him and follow.
(and it's okay, I've been pretty busy lately too lol)
Brella's heels stung, but she had picked up the urgency notion in the actionenough to understand that this guy was news. She picked herself up and sprinted after, keeping her neon wings hidden to avoid giving them away.
Mitchell took a sharp turn. He came to a stop a few seconds later, where the path ended and there was just a steep drop into darkness. "We're going to have to jump," he said. "And you're going to have to trust me." He didn't wait for an answer. He took a running start, and threw himself off of the edge.
Brella didn't move for a moment, but his urgency helped her make up her mind. And the fact that she could pulse-throwers charging up behind her.
She jumped, hoping mitchell had even more nice upgrades than it seemed.
Mitchell was falling for quite some time. His stomach dropped and he tried not the let out a scream. Seconds later, he finally hit something. It was rubbery, and stretched thin at the impact before snapping back up. It threw him back in the air a few times before settling back into place.
Brella fell for what felt like an eternity. Eventually, she began to wonder whether or not Mitchell had just prayed and lept from faith. It was taking a while. So instead of waiting for death, she willed her wings into being, causing her descent to slow, until she could see ground at the bottom. She flapped a few times, then landed again, feet on the floor. It bent slightly under her weight, then returned.
Brella knelt down to investigate the floor, and noticed Mitchell off a ways getting to his feet.
"What is this stuff?" Brellla asked, curious, "Some nano-polymer? It's awfully strict in it's binding, if so."
"It's a modified membrane derived from some sort of animal, but I'm not sure which one. It's extremely flexible, as you can see. Not very many people know that it exists, and I'm one of the only people down here that knows that one of them was placed here." He began to walk forward slowly, trying to put as little weight as possible on the membrane. "Walk slowly and carefully, it stretches easily and it's really frustrating," he said.
Brella tossed Mitchell a curious glance and got up, using her wings to keep her balance as she followed him.
They crossed over the membrane, reaching a door at the other end. "So… Castro," he said. "Fair warning: it's the gay capital of the world. Not sure if I mentioned that before." With that, he opened the door, and then RAINBOWWWSS
(Sorry I've been really busy lately.) Any idea how to get to your ship from here?
(Well, I wasn't expecting to end up in gay land, but we need to go up. Despite wings, Brella can't actually fly, only glide. Unless she has a crap ton of energy stored. But that would take a tank's energy storage. So, is there an elevator here?)
Brella looked around, nearly blinded by the sheer amount of color. She hadn't exactly been expecting to end up here. This was kinda forgotten territory in New Arcadia. Then again, being so deep in a hole never really helps publicity.
She nudged Mitchell with her elbow, "Is there an elevator or something here? I would very much like to get to my ship."
Mitchell hummed in thought. "Maybe. I can ask my friend. He usually hangs out at this place called Hot Cookie," he said casually.
(I just realized that Aizen is still up with Cole…)
(I feel bad for not remembering who Cole is oh no)
(The thief guy we agreed upon earlier? Cyborg, chasing after us in the dark corridor?)
(Aizen can obliterate him he's like a god)
(Yeah, but that also means Shuriken is that far behind.)
(…shit… maybe lets say he tagged along with us instead of leaving him behind? Just so that he doesn't have to like travel ten thousand universes when he gets back)

Brella fidgeted nervously with the wrench under her watch, "Well, let's get moving then. I'm already behind on a shipment of bionics…" She had an edge to her tone, and bit her tongue as she realized how it came out.
"Chill," Mitchell said. "We'll get there eventually, we just have to make sure we're careful. Most people who live in Castro are against ConTech, but there are still some that will contact them immediately if they see anything suspicious."
