"I've lost my appetite." April said casually.
"I've lost my appetite." April said casually.
"Really? Okay then." I wonder why she lost her appetite? Kenzi's food and drink were set in front of her, along with April's coffee. "Well if you do get hungry I could always split my sandwich with you."
"I suppose…. it isn't a big deal, I'll be fine."
"If you say so." Kenzi took her first bite and it tasted great. She loved this place! "Is there something on your mind that you want to talk about?" Kenzi didn't like when April was distance and didn't talk to her.
"No, I'm fine." she lied.
"Hm." Kezni leand forward on the table. "Something feels off. You're definitely not this quiet around me." There had to be something wrong. Maybe she did something that April didn't like? She couldn't think of what that might be though.
"No, I said I'm fine."
Kenzi sat back in her seat and turned away from her. "Fine." Maybe it was a bad idea to come. Kenzis phone buzzed and she looked at her message, with a smile on her face.
"I'm probably just tired, it's nothing."
"We can go back home if you want." Kenzi didn't like when April was like this, she liked the fun April that she could talk about anything with.
"No, it's fine."
"If you say so." Kenzi mumbled. She wanted to cheer her up but wasn't sure how.
"Just… Don't worry about me."
"The thing is I do worry, you're my bestfriend. Of something is wrong I just want to help." She rested her head in her hand and looked out the window.
"Best friend." she muttered. But what if I want to be more than friends?
"Y-yeah bestfriend." Kenzi cleared her throat. For a while now that word just didn't seem to fit, but she didn't understand why.
"Well, the food seems to be taking a while to get here."
Kenzi looked down. "My foods here. Did you want some?" She pushed her plate towards April. "Only if you want some of course."
"No, I'm fine." she said, sipping her coffee.
"Okay." Kenzi laid her head on the table and closed her eyes. "Want to hold my hand?" She held out her hand for April, and looked up at her.
"Why?"
"I thought it would make you feel better, but never mind." Kenzi moved her hand back into her lap.
"Oh, I'd like to, but never mind. You just don't normally hold hands with me."
"Okay here." She set her hand back up and smiled. "What's wrong with friends holding hands?" Kenzi laughed a little before closing her eyes again.
"What if we were more than friends? Hypothetically, I mean. Don't want to worry you."
