@Natasha
(Hi)
(Hi)
(Hiii are you still here?)
(Yes but I'm going to be pulled away to watch a movie w/ my mom and younger sister soon just fyi)
(Okay um I can be new to the island… do you want to start or should I?)
(I'll start, give me a sec.)
Jaidyn walked down the street of her town, walking her dog Tucker. She spotted a boat pulling up to the docks. She knew that a new family was moving to the island, which never happened. This is going to be interesting….
Once the boat was tied up to the dock, a blond boy about Jaidyn's age stepped off of it. He looked a bit anxious, as though it weren't his idea to move onto an island. A chocolate lab trotted at his heels, its tongue lolling out lazily. Lucas looked out at the crowd of people who had gathered to see the newcomers arrive. Great, we've got an audience… I don't like crowds…
Jaidyn jogged up to the dock with Tucker at her heels. She gently shooed some of the crowd away, knowing that the new people would feel slightly uncomfortable with a crowd watching them. Her dad was the captain of the boat that they had come in on. Her dad waved at her from where he was on the ship. Jaidyn waved back briefly before focusing her attention back at the family that was coming out of the ship.
"Er, thank you." Lucas said to the girl as he watched the crowd disperse. Rocky sniffed Tucker curiously, both dogs circling one another. His parents stepped off the boat and looked around cheerfully. His father slapped him on the shoulder. "See Luke? I told you it'd be wonderful! Isn't it gorgeous out here?" Lucas looked up at his father awkwardly. "Er, yeah dad. It's great…"
Jaidyn smiled. "I'm supposed to give you guys a tour of the town and take you to your new home, I'm Jaidyn Fleetfoot by the way, my uncle(I forgot that her parents are divorced and she lives w/ her mom) was the one who brought y'all here."
"Sure, that sounds great. I'm Lucas, by the way. Lucas Mulbright." He shook her hand politely. "And, well, these are my parents. They're certainly… certainly something." He looked over at his parents in embarrassment. They were acting like stereotypical tourists and were gasping, taking pictures of everything.
Jaidyn laughed. "I'll tell you a secret," She leaned slightly towards him and whispered, "My uncle was the exact same way the first time he got here. It was both hilarious and embarrassing at the same time. And nice to meet you Lucas."
Lucas smiled softly. "Well, seeing as they're giving themselves a tour, maybe you and I could… well…" A faint pink tint rose to his cheeks. "Perhaps we could have a 'private tour'?"
"Sure! Just follow me." Jaidyn answered cheerily, smile playing across her lips.
Lucas glanced back at his parents before following, Rocky close at his heels. "So, where to first?"
(I gtg to bed now, goodnight.)
"I mean………….I'm not really sure. I guess we can start down this street and go from there." Jaidyn suggested, tightening her grip on her hyper-active dog's leash.
(Night)
"Alright. What are the main attractions of this island?"
"Main attractions…………main attractions. Well………I don't really know."
"Well, when new people come, what is the main thing they go to? Popular places to go, food, cafes, beach…"
(I'm literally just heading to bed now….lol)
"New people? You and your family are the first new family in over eight years!"
(Lol)
"Really?" Lucas raised his eyebrows. "I would think this place would be pretty popular. I mean, my dad and Kiara seemed pretty excited about it…"
"I mean, it is really cool, and has some interesting history. Oh HEY! I should take you to the library when the tour is over."
(Maybe we can time skip over the tour bc Idk how to give him a tour….)
"Alright, that sounds good." Lucas glanced back at his father and adopted mother, Kiara. He had never felt close enough to her after his own mother was killed to actually call her 'mom'. She would always just be Kiara to him.
(Sure)
After Jaidyn finished giving Lucas the tour and showed him his house, she led him to the library. "I think you'll love it in here."
"I think you're right." Lucas smiled softly, looking around the slightly dusty room full of books. "I love libraries." He had read a lot after his mother died. It was sort of an outlet for him, as he could delve into someone else's life for a while. It meant he could get away from his own life temporarily, and that was something he was drawn to for obvious reasons. Well, obvious to him. Jaidyn likely thought that Kiara was his actual mother, and she hadn't noticed that he didn't call Kiara mom.
