August pretended to gag.
Fae went red. “Sorry.”
He rolled his eyes in amusemrnt, "Get a room," August teased.
Cruz spat at his friend facetiously.
Fae began to get to her feet, flustered.

“I don’t want to prod, so you don’t have to tell me. How long has this been happening?”
"About four to five years. After Jason died."
"About four to five years. After Jason died."
“Who’s Jason?”
Next day?)
"Jason. My twin brother. He died of cancer. But that wasn't the only reason. He–it's complicated. But he was turning to stone because of this stupid rock monster thing."

Cruz was stuck mopping the clay room floors the following day at work.
The dream started blissfully, with Cruz swinging Fae around and laughing as they danced under the sun, a Ferris wheel standing protectively over them. He called her his raison d’etre, and Fae laughed with pure joy, but the scene disintegrated before her, turning into the after effects of a horror story. The sky was gray and choked with clouds, and the Ferris wheel loomed over her threateningly, abandoned and breaking down. Worst of all was a figure, hung up on one of the carts by his neck, dead. Fae screamed when she saw that Is was Cruz.
The nightmare faded, replaced by the vision of a dark street lit dimly by street lamps. A girl with turquoise hair walked in front of her, in a hurry. Fae’s eyes widened as she realized exactly when and where she was, and she panicked, trying to call out to the girl, but no sound came out of her mouth. The girl kept walking, and it was then that Fae realized that the girl was her. Fae watched in shock and horror as a man stepped out of the shadows, pressing a gun to the girl’s head and leaning close, pushing her into the parked car behind her and whispering disgusting things in her ear, crawling in after. [the dream continues in horribly graphic and disgusting ways that I will NOT write or try to imagine]
Fae sat up in her bed with a gasp, drenched in sweat. She drew in shaky breaths, eyes unfocused and wide with terror before she realized that it had all been a dream. Leaning back wearily on the headboard and trying to still her hammering heart, she wiped the tears from her blotchy face and checked the time. 4:03am. It was still dark out, and the eerie silence found its way into her room as she shivered, closing her eyes and trying to fall back asleep. After exactly seven minutes, she gave up, slipping out of bed and pulling grey sweatpants and a sweater out of her closet, ignoring any cute outfits. She then trudged downstairs, exhausted, not bothering to wash or even brush her hair, which she tied up in an unintentionally messy bun.
Sighing quietly, Fae cut herself a loaf of bread, careful not to wake her family as her mind replayed the horrifying nightmares. She blinked the tears out of her eyes, clenching her fists and bringing her bread and the knife to the table. She had dreaded this day since it was announced two years ago, but it was unavoidable. Her rapist would be free from jail in four hours.
"Jason. My twin brother. He died of cancer. But that wasn't the only reason. He–it's complicated. But he was turning to stone because of this stupid rock monster thing."
Macha rubbed Sabine’s hand comfortingly, overwhelmed with sadness.
Fae took a halfhearted bite of her bread, stomach tangled up in knots. Her hands trembled as she squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself not to cry. She had known this day would come for years, yet she was still a shivering mess in the kitchen of her house at four in the morning. Stupid, stupid Fae. She rolled her sweater sleeves up, hot and exhausted.
Fae’s gaze traveled around the room distractedly, hazel eyes glazed over and unresponsive, falling on the sharp, long knife on the table. Her hand trembled, inching towards it, and she tensed up. No. Nonononono. I am not doing this today, not again, oh please no! She picked up the knife, a whimper escaping from her lips as she rested its wickedly sharp point on the top of her forearm. NO!! Put it down!!!!!, she screamed at herself as she gritted her teeth, but it was too late. She couldn’t stop her myself from sinking it into her flesh, couldn’t stop herself from dragging it slowly down her arm, pulling it out at the wrist. What have I done?
(The climax of Fae’s torture will come in the afternoon)
(You meanie!!!!!)
(😈😈😈)
(Waits for @Lil)
Unfortunately August and Cruz were completely pblivious to this. August assumed she had slept in late, but held no qualms against her. Cruz was just a slight concerned— Fae was always more punctual than he was..
(Hi!)
(It’s like 4 in the morning isn’t jt?)
Fae squeezed her eyes shut as her arm throbbed with pain, the long gash bleeding. She pulled down her sweater sleeves to hide it, sheer terror taking over her as all the horrific details of her rapeing cane back to her, snapping through her head. She whimpered again, tears flowing freely down her face. Why? Why does this all have to happen today? Why did the stupid judge think two years was a long enough prison sentence?!
She gritted her teeth, picking up her phone with trembling hands and dialling Laila’s number.
“Hey, Fae.”, a voice answered weakly.
“Hi Laila.”, she answered softly. “You awake too?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
“How’re you feeling?”
“Oh, just peachy.” The sarcasm intended cane off as unsteady and halfhearted, weak. “I mean, it’s not everyday that you and your friend’s rapist is let out of jail.” Laila’s voice quivered. “I’m scared, Fae.”
“So’my.”, Fae whispered.
“I’m not brave like you, Fae.”
Fae shook her head, then remembered that Laila couldn’t see her. “I’m not brave. I’m terrified.”
Laila drew in a shaky breath. “Me too. I— I keep thinking, what if I see him? What if he finds me again? I know it’s stupid…”
“No.”, Fae said firmly. “Not stupid.” Her voice softened. “I’m worried about the same thing, Laila, but I’m trying my best.”
Laila sighed. “Thanks, Fae. Really, thanks for calling. I should probably go before I wake my parents.”
Fae swallowed. “Me too. See you later, call if you need me.”
“Bye.”
Fae set the phone down on the table, her whole body shaking as she recalled perfectly every detail of her rapist, shuddering. She got up, fists clenched, grabbed a full box of Fruit Loops and a spoon, and walked out the door and into the dark, leaving a note for her parents. Once outside, she hesitated, the dark cloaking her, surrounding her ominously. She hadn’t walked alone in the dark since that terrible night, and the mere idea of it made her freeze with fear. Fae’s heart pounded in her chest, while body quivering as she put one foot in front of the other and walked to the railing overlooking the falls, waiting for the sun to rise.
