The early-morning sunlight slanted through the window, illuminating Fae's face as she slept peacefully.
The sunlight came in through bars of light, struggling through the slide-down plastic shutters. Cruz's breath was peaceful and slow, accented with a small snore in the back of his throat.
Fae's eyes flutteed open, and she sat up in bed with a yawn, rubbing her eyes. She looked to the side, smiling softly at how peaceful, how angelic Cruz looked in his sleep. Her eyes melted a little, filled with affection.
