Frankie was terrified. Macha wasn't just going to leave like that, was she?
Frankie was terrified. Macha wasn't just going to leave like that, was she?
Macha walked as fast as she could down the hallway, not letting herself cry or betray her emotions even as her heart clenched painfully.
Frankie grabbed Ace's arm. "You boys stay here. I'm gonna have a woman to woman talk with her. Please. Stay here."
"Alright, Frankie." Blake dipped his head.
"Thank you. I'll be back." She ran out after Macha.
"It's okay, because it's a part of you. It may not be the pretty side or the funny side, but it is still a part of who you are." Zander said comfortingly.
Dani nodded, wiping her tears. "Okay." It's so tiring to carry all this pain… She transmitted.
(So this was my last post, and I'm just going to add onto it.)
Dani sighed. "We should probably go visit Ace." She dragged herself up and pulled Zander up with her.
Macha heard footsteps coming down the hall behind her and pulled her wings around herself tightly, walking to who knows where.
Frankie eventually caught up to her. "Macha! Wait. Can we have a talk? Woman to woman?"
Macha turned around at this. "Go ahead."
Ace turned towards Blake. "Can I have a towel? I don't like blood."
"Here sit down." Frankie patted a spot by the window next to her and sat down. "You need to get it out and take a breath. And to be honest so do I."
Macha shrugged, trying and failing at an air of noncholance. "I don't like death."
"Yeah, dude. Stay put." Blake turned his back on Ace for a moment, digging through a cabinet and pulling out a hospital towel, throwing it to Ace.
"Thanks." Ace wiped at his stomach, "Hey, Blake. I've been meaning to ask, did I say anything….weird while I was under the loopy drug? It was all just fake, so don't….listen to it."
Frankie laughed sadly. "Reasonably so. Does anybody? My dad died when I was young. I was torn. My friends at my old school made jokes that they wanted to die. And it was really ignorant of them. Ace shouldn't have said that. Especially considering that you're part of his life."
"I just hope he didn't mean it…." Macha's eyes became cloudy, the gold dimming.
"I don't think he did. He's not exactly a careful person. Foresight isn't his strength. He loves you Macha and I think you know that." Frankie looked at Macha with empathetic eyes.
"I do, but…. He's always rushing into things, like he doesn't care about what happens to him, and that hurts to watch, especially since my last friend………… yeah." She swallowed, looking away.
"So are you trying to tell me you don't want flying cheeseburger? You sure talked about those a lot." Blake jested
"You don't have to go into any detail, I won't dig." She tried to sound as sincere as she was. "He really doesn't think, does he. You have to be there for him though. Leaving won't make him better at not rushing." She stood. "Come on. Let's go back."
Ace laughed, "Hahaha, I mean it doesn't sound bad." he smiled. Thank god I didn't talk about something real.
Macha trailed after, silent.
Frankie shot frequent to Macha who's tears had dried, leaving faint marks on her face. "Good talk."
He pulled her closer against himself.
Blake decided not to mention Ace's feverish calling for Kameo. Some things were better left unsaid. Instead, he plopped himself down into the chair next to Ace's cot and leaned back. "Can you believe we both got girlfriends, man? It's still insane to me."
