(@Irish_Dancer1102 Hey, ignore them. Opinions are opinions and you can't please everybody. What we can do, is just not give them the time of day and move past it. ^u^)
Josh stepped back. It felt weird, just watching Ace comfort Dani without being able to do anything to help. He slowly slid out of the room. He wasn't needed there.
Pattering slowly down the hall, he opened the door to his room. Ignoring the light switch, he plopped down onto his bed and pulled over a pillow. His arms enveloped the pillow as he squeezed it tight. He was so used to it being just him and Dani, with the occasional Niki tagging along. Now, it was as if he was no longer needed. Sure, he was technically still a part of the TGR, but he didn't even compare to the rest. Their powers, their abilities, what use was a flower boy in an organization of heroes?
He sighed deeply, tipping his head back until it hit the bed. He hummed a song quietly to himself as droplets or tears rolled his cheeks.
If only I had their powers. Then I could do something.
…
But I'm useless.
(@Mish poor Josh!!!)
Blake was lost a mix of dreams and nightmares. The first dream was peaceful. Blake was two years old again, his mother picking him up and spinning him around. Blake was laughing hysterically, but laughing turned to crying as he was tossed aside, his mother screamed. The rest melted into darkness as the dream shifted.
“You want us to bring the pigeon with us? You're joking.” An older boy snarled at Commander Ryker. A six year old Blake was peeking out from behind the Commander’s legs. He wore an R.A.C. uniform that was far too big for him, his small wings were tucked under the shirt. Without looking the Commander sharply kicked Blake backwards, making the small boy fall over as tears spilled down his cheeks.
“Forget it.” The commander spat. “He can come when he decides to grow up and act like a proper soldier.” Without another glance at Blake, he stalked out of the room, leaving him at the mercy of the older recruits. As soon as the first boy threw a punch, darkness ensued.
“Thorfin! Cover for me!” Shay, a nineteen year old girl from Unit five yelled. Eager to prove himself, ten year old Blake stumbled after her into the heat of battle, his wings still too bulky for him to fly. As Shay plowed forward, he saw another young girl, maybe a year or so older than himself. Her hair was jet black and her skin was an iridescent blue. She was summoning some kind of green orb in her hands, and her intense gaze was focused on Shay. Blake shakily pointed his gun and fired towards her legs, hoping he wouldn't cause too much damage. The dream cut to the days after Blake had spent searching R.A.C. Hospitals throughout Seattle. According to the doctors, she had bled out in the street. It was his fault. Blake refused to speak to anyone for the rest of the week, wondering if she even had anyone to show up at her funeral, or if she was lost in the fray. Blake woke up, tears streaming down his cheeks. He slowly relaxed as he realized he wasn't in the barracks anymore. He still didn't dare say a word or get up. He shouldn't be drawing unnecessary attention to himself. He shut his eyes a little too tight and tried to fall back to sleep, choking back a sob and hiding his face underneath his wing.
(thank guys. I just haven't been having a good week. )
her beating heart slowed down as they leveled themselves so they weren't upside down. "This is thrilling!" She cried, laughing and gasping for air. "Absolutely thrilling!"
Dani noticed that Josh had left. "You guys go ahead to the kitchen. I'll catch up." With that she ran out of her room and into Josh's. She turned on the light and sat down beside him. She hugged him tightly. "No one could ever replace you Josh." She smiled. "You still hold the highest place in my heart." She waited for him to talk to her, not loosening her tight hug.
(sorry for what? You haven't done anything wrong!)
(@Irish_Dancer Hugs you)
"I…" Josh broke into sobs. "Thank you..I'm sorry. I just feel so overpowered here." He wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you," he managed to whisper out before another wave of silent sobs wracked his chest. Sniffing violently, he forced his breathing to regulate, wiping away his tears with his sweater paws. "I'm okay now. I think I wanna go visit Blake–See how he's doing in that cell. I hope Will didn't give him any grief while I was out."
(@Irish_Dancer1102 I'm sympathize with your bad week. Mine's been pretty crappy too. Life's tough. smiles weakly. Gives you another hug. You got this.)
(Sorry I took so long to jump on, I had a of unexpected thing happen today.) Zander walked tho the place he had decided on to meet with, Isuel, the man who had helped him out of the sewer. He had Kata patrolling the area in case it was a trap. He didn't know if he could trust the guy, but their interests may be aligned… for now.
Dani put her hand on Josh's arm. "He's here Josh. Director Axyl had him put in that special cell that Niki, Carla, you, and I developed. His just needed a push in the right direction. Don't worry, Axyl was the one who authorized his stay here. And, uh, just so you know, you, Macha and I need to talk to Will. Don't freak out but Will clipped Blake's wings."
Josh blinked a few times to process this new information. "Wait…so he's changed? Oh my gosh, that's awesome!" Joshua grinned, his face lighting up. "I swear I had a feeling that he'd…wait. Did you say that Will clipped his wings? What the heck–is he okay!?" Josh stood. He was going to have a few choice words to say to Will the next time he saw him. He understood that he hated the R.A.C., everyone did, but clipping a guys wings was SO against protocol. It wasn't even HUMANE!
(That's okay, as long as you're alright it is okay.)
He sat behind someone's red truck waiting for the guy he helped. Once in awhile Iseul would check to see if he was there or if it was the men that were chasing him. Thankfully the men weren't there. Sitting back down he took the gun out of his pocket. It didn't look that special to him, it looked like a normal F&N FiveSeven. But something was off to him…
Hey guys! I'm late..Also, that comment hurt.
Ace went on to the kitchen with Macha right beside him.
That's it for me today folks.
"Hah! I'm glad you like it!" Peter laughed brightly, "As much fun as this is, it's exhausting," he breathed heavily. He tilted his wings some to slow their glide and lower over the ground, a couple meters away from touching the grass.
Zander sat down across from Isuel, catching him put away the gun, but pretending not to," So, why did you help me out of the sewer? I smelled worse than garage." Zander said with a chuckle.
He looked up at the sky then back at Zander. "I have no idea honestly.", Iseul responded laughing afterwards,"Maybe it's because that's what you're supposed to do when there's a werido trying to climb out of a sewer? Or maybe it's because you look like you seriously need help."
Macha kept hold of Ace's hand as they entered the kitchen, pulling herself a little closer to him. His incredibly sweet, touching, and poetic words from earlier echoed in her mind and she felt herself smile. Her insides were a confusing blend of love, aching, and sympathy & empathy for the past he'd shared with her. "I'm sorry about your family.", she murmured. "Thank you for trusting me." She slid her one wing, as long as she was tall, around him, rubbing his fingers gently with her thumb.
"Peter," Skylar started, "You should sit down. you look exhausted! Plus, I am a lot of weight. You can put me down. Thank you, though. It was really fun!" She smiled, watching him closely.
